I’m fuming madly with this book. 2022 is truly TRYING ME in the book department. It’s starting to make me sound like a broken record but honestly what are these books?

A dark and twisted bully romance full of secrets and lies… Whit Lancaster burst into my life like a storm. Dark and thunderous, furious and fierce. Cold, heartless and devastatingly beautiful, like the statues in our prep school gardens. The school with his family name on the sign. He can do no wrong here. This is his domain. The characters, the storyline, the spice and everything in between was executed beautifully. I think what everyone will enjoy the most is how the author brings the title of the book into play. It was one of my favourite scenes and I hope someone appreciates it as much as I did! The virginity of the female lead was one of my concerns before reading. I was wary about how it would be handled—whether she'd give it away to the first boy she sees or whether she'd be heavily pressured into it but after meeting Crew, my doubts just flew out the window. One more thing that I liked about the book was that there wasn’t the regular third act breakup structure we usually see. There were ups and downs throughout. It kept me entertained for sure.she wears that word proudly through her purity ring, a promise she made to her father that she would only break once she is married. a good girl through and through, she is idolized by her younger peers, until her friends start to grow up and make their own choices. and let’s not forget that one of the teachers at this prestigious boarding school is a known pedo/phile, yet no one does anything about it?? the few posts i've seen have romanticized this book for being a "fun good girl x bad boy romance” with the added bonus of a boarding school setting and overall rich kid energy.

If the author had made that clear instead of making excuses, having them owning up to them… I would still have thrown the book into the fire but I would have not jumped in the remaining skeleton of it just to make sure it was completely destroyed. The viral kiss and the video of Tate singing at the party do wonders for both of their burgeoning careers. So after some careful negotiation, the two of them agree to start a fake relationship. But before long they discover their feelings might not be fake after all … Lovely literature right there. Especially when he proceeds to call someone else a misogynist after a few chapters of related thoughts.honestly, this book just wasn’t for me. it all felt wrong and wired to me, and it was actually impossible for me to find any cute moments, because i hated the mc’s, therefore it was very hard to find anything involving them cute. There was the whole situation with Wren who was was smart enough to read all the red flags from her teacher, to see that her “friend” was clearly involved with him to simply not do ANYTHING?! The goody two shoes who would was outspoken about misdeeds? Give me a break!
