What a great way to both have a wonderful read and learn of all the complexities of this time period (1561-72), and all the hostilities and difficulties that people had to live with. For months, its captain - Louise Reydon-Joubert - and her courageous crew has hunted pirates to liberate those enslaved during the course of their merciless raids. In 2013, she was named as one of publishing Top 100 most influential people by the Bookseller and has appeared in every list since.
