Staying aloof is Constantia, the 17-year-old taxidermist's daughter, who lives amongst the remnants of her father's stuffed creations. In 2012, she published an anniversary book to celebrate 50 years of the Chichester Festival Theatre. Though readers will have to wait for The City of Tears to be released to find out for certain, it's fair to expect that we may all be asking ourselves this same question as the rest of Mosse's incredible series unfolds.

But most of all this about Religion started with war on 1st March 1562 with Massacre of unarmed Huguenots in Vassy by The Catholic forces of Francis Duke of Guise this religion at its worst. The Burning Cambers is a brilliant tale fusing gothic adventure, religion and history that will stay with its readers long after the final page has been turned, and will no doubt render a legion of Mosse’s fans to wait eagerly for the next instalment. And though it is unclear whose will, and who is set to inherit, and what, exactly, is set to be inherited, it is clear that the diary's owner will not rest until the will--and any potential inheritor--have been buried once and for all. Because Piet is on a mission of his own and the chance encounter proves perilous for both as loyalties are tested. These are big, timeless questions, all of which Mosse explores through the everyday lives of everyday people.A story of love, war and religion; about the power of secrets and the impact of betrayal, it is Kate Mosse’s story-telling at its very best. Toulouse: As the religious divide deepens in the Midi, and old friends become enemies, Minou and Piet both find themselves trapped in Toulouse, facing new dangers as sectarian tensions ignite across the city, the battle-lines are drawn in blood and the conspiracy darkens further. Kate is the Co-Founder and Chair of the Board of the Women’s Prize for Fiction and in June 2013, was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to literature. The secondary characters are deftly sketched in, like Minou’s siblings: resourceful seven-year-old Alis and mischievous, restless teenager Aimeric.

I folded that bit of paper and put it in a long since lost box, and made a vow to myself that I would do my utmost to follow in her literary footsteps.

And at that moment, I suddenly had an image of a girl standing in a graveyard, in Franschhoek, in 1862, having carried the story of her family and their flight from persecution and their journey all over the world. The mounting evidence of ever more and ever worse skulduggery will pull Tempe deeper and deeper down what even she sees as a rabbit hole before she confronts a ringleader implicated in “Drugs.

The Burning Chambers is an epic novel of the French Wars of Religion, packed with historical detail in richly textured stories of love, family, betrayal, faith and war. I say perfect because I do love history and the level of detail was just right and described with historical accuracy. Now, it's a decent romance, if a bit sappy for my liking, with the Romeo and Juliet style dividing line provided by the French Wars of Religion.I planned an epic saga, a Romeo-and-Juliet-type story, with one Catholic family and one Huguenot (or French Protestant) family. What a great way to both have a wonderful read and learn of all the complexities of this time period (1561-72), and all the hostilities and difficulties that people had to live with. For months, its captain - Louise Reydon-Joubert - and her courageous crew has hunted pirates to liberate those enslaved during the course of their merciless raids. In 2013, she was named as one of publishing Top 100 most influential people by the Bookseller and has appeared in every list since.
