Description

There really are only these three films, Project A, Wheels on Meals, and Dragons Forever that show Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao together at their best, and more importantly in their prime.

This release marks the first time in years the film will be getting an official release in any format, let alone on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, in the U. British distributors 88 Films have revealed that they plan to add various new titles to their Blu-ray catalog. The second Audio Commentary is with our favorite commentating duo Mike Leeder and Arne Venema on the Hong Kong Cut. The switch flips about a quarter into the film, as the trio turns against the chemical company once they discover they’re manufacturing narcotics that are poisoning the water. Kick Fighter – in this archival program, Andy Cheng explains how he entered the film business and discusses his fighting style. His catalogue includes a vast amount of martial arts, action and comedy ranging from 1973’s Knockabout (雜家小子), 1980’s Encounters of the Spooky Kind (鬼打鬼), 1986’s The Millionaires’ Express (富貴列車), 1990’s Skinny Tiger, Fatty Dragon (瘦虎肥龍) and many more. I don’t usually go for remixes on Hong Kong action movies, but I had heard good things about this one.

This along with the Dolby Vision Encoding create a verbose, beautifully rendered image that retains that liquid photochemical feel that only – until 4K UHD – came with a freshly struck 35mm print (or the occasional rare 70mm print if you were lucky enough to see films in 70mm). The Breaker – this archival program takes a closer look at the acting and fighting careers of Billy Chow, who has a memorable role in the film.

Featuring fight scenes with Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez that are considered some of the finest choreographed scenes for fans of Hong Kong action movies. Grain is present and gets a lot darker during slow motion inserts, but this appears accurate (aside from a handful of noisy shots that I’m guessing were taken from a different source), doesn’t interfere with separation, and there isn’t notable posterization. Neither English dub really fit the main actors, but the Golden Harvest-branded cast is superior in terms of performance and writing. This appears to be Director and Co-Star Hung’s touch as there is the sort of feel that Millionaires Express has to its comedic stylings than say Chan’s more physical comedy ala Meals on Wheels.
