On March 3, 2011, she performed at the TED conference in Long Beach, California as part of a series entitled "Beauty, Imagination, Enchantment. She was a featured poet on HBO's "Russell Simmons presents Def Poetry Jam" in 2006, and that year she was also the youngest poet to compete in the National Poetry Slam. And I know we live in different worlds, and we're always really busy, but in my dreams you spin around me so fast, I always wake up dizzy.

Sarah Kay is definitely an astonishing poet and because she is under-appreciated in the book world, I feel that more should look into giving this book a read. Only so many into space, before you forget that words are sometimes used for things other than filling emptiness. I felt very detached from the author and the themes while reading the poems, and I felt that the free-form didn't help convey the message she was trying to get accross. It took a few poems for me to get into No Matter The Wreckage and get used to the distinctive style of the poems and the poet’s voice.Poems as such, you would doubt, might not have translated well into written form, but it does so perfectly in a different perspective. There are some poems that I felt too intimate for me to be reading, like I was invading her privacy, but that's how Sarah Kay is.
