I started this book because I remember really enjoying Sali's informed yet frank style of advice in her book "Honestly Perfect. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Those who enjoy Sali's writing are no doubt of an age where they have learned 99% of what is included in this book already.

Not only is it a quick reference guide that can be dipped in and out of, but it's a cosy and comforting read that you can curl up with after a long day. However, this was a very enjoyable read, I like Sali's style and all her Pool Columns, some of which are repeated here.Was lucky to go and hear Sali Hughes' wise words in person (in possibly the best-coiffed, most fragrant talk I've been to). I've read so many books like this over the years but I am yet to find one that gives any helpful or useful advice or insight . Some interesting bits about her father and her upbringing but everything else was just a bit obvious.

I really don't think Gen Z needs to be told (again) how 'chic' navy and black are together or read an entire section on how to create a password system. She's also strong when writing about fashion and clothes, and if the book had focused only on those elements it would have been a strong 4 stars from me. In 2018, she co-founded the non-profit collective Beauty Banks and in 2022 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Cardiff University for services to journalism and charity.
