It does not compare favourably with 'Love' nor 'Electric' but "American Horse" and "Sweet Soul Sister" in particular are great heavy rock tracks. If you want me to go through perhaps the only minor flaw in the album itself, then I suppose I have no choice. But what you're starting to notice is that the issue is moving more and more into the focus of the heavy listenership and is slowly getting the attention and appreciation it deserves. Sun King as mentioned above is some of the best fusion songs, Edie is their signature ballad and there is place for diversity with the rocking New York City, the anthemic Wake Up Time for Freedom, the groove of Sweet Soul Sister, or the slow post-punk-ish construction of American Horse.Just listen to fabulous opener 'Sun King', which in its somewhat laid back and 'cool' presence, introduces the album (and predictably enough, Duffy’s guitar work) in an outstandingly successful way.
