Kits also have a booklet outlining the set and it’s many parts plus two packs of cards to get collectors going. These cards are shown on the box and they look insanely nice, however, I managed to pull one in this box, I pulled the Ahsoka Tano card and in-person… it looks absolutely beautiful. All in all there are 231 cards in the set, covering the first 2 seasons of the show and while that’s a hefty amount of cards to be hunting down, there’s always the thrill of the chase, something lacking in these easy-to-find internet days that harkens right back to the earliest days of Star Wars collecting when most collecting targets were myth, hearsay or stumbled upon by luck.

One of the most-demanded foreign card sets were from Argentina-based Stani, who released their own variation of Topps’ line in 1977. Are we the only ones who watched the credits of the various episodes to enjoy fantastic illustrations? One of the more frustrating problems of being a Star Wars fan is the inability to watch the original theatrical release of the film. This line was unique in that it provided artists ranging from Jack Davis to Moebius to design a card representing their vision of the Star Wars universe.

Well, now we can find them on these cards, giving the right recognition to those who made them on the back of the cards.

Which is to say that you should expect to pay a premium for these cards (which are often sold in lots as seen above) if you want to add them to your own personal collection. A fan of the saga since 1978, Mark began in fan fiction in 1982 and since then has written for Star Wars Insider, StarWars. He is the Daily Content Manager of Fantha Tracks and the co-host of Making Tracks and Start Your Engines on Fantha Tracks Radio. Some of these are rarer than others, but all (well, maybe with the exception of Topps 1995 line of Star Wars Pogs) are still hugely desired by fans.

There is simply no other way for us to wrap up this tour of Topps card collecting than by taking a look at the most infamous of all Star Wars collectibles. Here that tragedy lives on in a trading card that isn’t so much fun for the entire family as it is deeply unsettling.
