Alongside their new Torrent case, Fractal has released an update for their existing Ion Platinum series of power supplies. Since you don’t have the option to mount a radiator to the top of the case (remember, that’s where the PSU lives), you’re limited to impractical mounting options for liquid cooling, either in the front of the case or at the bottom. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The Fractal Torrent Compact and the Fractal Torrent Nano are the most recent additions to the Torrent family lineup. Starting with the exterior, the chassis has a very aggressive look, with a striking front mesh panel and glass panels on both sides.

If you’re an origami expert, you might be able to squeeze it in without any problems I managed to complete my cabinet built, but It was tough to squeeze those wires in so the glass back can close. I won’t quite say that I have grown tired of companies taking the safe route by slapping a fine mesh front panel on cases. The chassis supports motherboards up to EATX in size and ships with a GPU support bracket and enough cable tie mounting points to tidy every conceivable hardware setup. Fractal Design Torrent cases allow you to install 180mm fans in the floor and front of the case and house the power supply in the roof so if – like us – you're not much fussed about that feature you may well be feeling a touch of meh. Simply put, the new models are powerhouses that let you enjoy airflow to a degree normally associated with larger cases, making Torrent an excellent choice for air cooling aficionados looking for a compact or nano case.If you've already purchased the case, the company recommends you unplug the fan hub and fill out this form to receive a replacement kit as soon as it's available. Under the aggressively styled front panel, twin 180mm fans upfront to help provide airflow and aid in cooling of the components housed within. Below is what Fractal had to say about their Ion 2 Platinum series power supplies in a recent press release.

Both spots have large air filters that are easily removable, and in our case, all fans come with RGB illumination. This system allows us to produce a substantial amount of heat and effectively test the Fractal Design Torrent Compact ‘s cooling capabilities. The reverse end is where the magic happens, offering all the cable management utilities and space for up to two 3.Ora, considerando che la mia mb ha due slot ssd (oramai molto diffusi) sul retro posso tenere 3 ssd-sata, con possibilità di averne altri due tramite adattatore al posto dello slot per hdd da 3. The Torrent is a perfect fit for anyone serious about high-end cooling – with or without a custom water loop. Die riesigen Lüfter sorgen für so viel Durchzug, dass man sie mit Anwendungen wie "Fan Control" problemlos auf 20-30% runterregeln kann, ohne dass die Temperaturen merklich steigen.

The front panel of the Torrent Compact bears an aggressive design, reminding me a lot of the grille on a supercar. This isn’t an issue if you opt for any other version of the Torrent than we’re testing today, but if you want this RGB variant, do make sure you have two A-RGB ports on your mainboard. Meet Fractal’s Torrent, an all-new enclosure design that revives the classic PSU-on-top chassis designs of old to create an airflow-optimised case that’s designed to keep your PC’s graphics card cool under load. For cooling, the Fractal Torrent ships with two front-mounted 180mm intake fans and three bottom-mounted 140mm intake fans.

This isn’t Fractal’s fault, just a realization since it’s 2022 and power supply cables are still girthy.

When we reviewed the original Fractal Design Torrent last year, we were impressed by its front panel not only for its looks but also for its thermal performance. ports, one USB Type-C port, discrete headphone and mic jacks, along with power and reset switches – all quite standard, though fairly complete. The simple explanation is that we are perfectly happy with cases such as the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO that rely on 120mm and 140mm fans and do not feel an immediate need for 180mm fans. As other reviews stated, they left very little room on the backside for running cables, while still allowing the magnetized cover to close. If you've been looking for the Torrent and have been unable to find it for sale, it's likely because the company has halted sales temporarily after identifying a manufacturing flaw in the included Nexus 9P Slim Fan Hub that's included with the case.I ended up doing 3 120mm fans in the front that also hold my liquid cooler and I put the 180mm fans laying flat at the base of the case. The new Compact model, as its name implies, squishes things down a bit, but not by a massive amount.
