Then Itook it back out, turned to Capella andgotwhat looked like avery good star test for an unfiltered short achro. Celestron Starry Night Software is the premier astronomy software package on the market, providing resources and knowledge to view our solar system and beyond. It's a mystery to me, why so many of the cheap 60mm makers decided to make a complete mess of an eyepiece as simple and cheap as the huygenian.

The 18mm and 9/11mm would do the trick, or just the 18mm with a 2x Barlow if you want to save money for something else. One of the most important factors in a telescope is its transmission—the percentage of light that reaches the focal plane. As I went back and forth through focusI was rewarded witha textbook perfect,bulging-triangle diffraction pattern. Churchill said that "any cannon is better than no cannon", and I think the same can be said of small telescopes, unless they are of such abysmal quality to actually push someone away from astronomy. Checking the retaining ring tightness and centering have become standard operating procedure with a new one.

Travel Scope 60 | Celestron

Over the weekend, was able to get in a few sessions with the 10mm, including playing with the 2x barlow. The other bit of bad news looking at the kit is that the 20mm eyepiece is a cheaper design than that with the Celestron 70 Travel scope. It comes with an image inverter prism, so you can see things the right way up (this is supposed to be used if you use it as a spotting scope during the day, so it's a handy tool to have alongside binoculars). I expect it will be the eyepiece I reach for first to start most of my (infrequent) visual sessions with this scope.I later passed it on to my sister and her daughter where it was partly responsible for kindling the kid’s interest in science. I am not an experienced visual observer, and don't have much basis for comparison w/ other eyepieces that might work just was well or even better. and a 9T6 with the f/15 Mak because that is wherethe latter scopes have topped out so far on planets.

I have had two short sessions where Rigel was displaying some symptoms ofapparent decentering or wedge prismatic effect at best focus. I still have it for sentimental reasons more than anything, but I could see being tempted by that gorgeous andextremely portableTV-60.Accessories include: two eyepieces (20mm and 8mm), erect image star diagonal, Barlow lens, moon filter, and finderscope. The problem is that the very narrow tube makes it unlikely that I will be able to move the odd posts that attach the 60 to the mount. So for me it was a great investment, a great learning tool and I highly recommend something similar to anybody starting out. I also decided to try a 6mm Brandon as my higher mag option - it should be here in time for clear skies this weekend. This award-winning optical system reduces visual defects like field curvature and coma, creating an ultra-flat field for pinpoint stars all the way to the edge of today’s largest imaging sensors.
