Crosshair small is the perfect size, very useful as it uses two colors for the small Crosshair(I use black with white inner crosshair) . I've tested this on a multitude fo games and the input lag penalty while capping the FPS to 237 is not worth it. Slim bezels, futuristic design, lights on the back, and an adjustable stand that lets you set the monitor just right have you covered. The AW2521H also includes Nvidia’s Reflex performance analyzer that shows real time information on screen with input lag and frame rates and is said to help reduce input latency (for more see Nvidia Reflex tested). Note that the monitor can also support 10-bit color depth, in which case you’re limited to 300Hz over DisplayPort 1.

Further, the screen has a matte anti-glare coating that prevents reflections without making the image too grainy. Since this is the same panel as the MSI 240hz IPS panel and other reviews state that if I start getting around 144fps the overshoot will be bad with adaptive sync on. He has gone through several pieces of hardware in pursuit of every bit of performance gain, much to the dismay of his wallet. The Alienware AW2521H is part of Dell’s premium portfolio, so it isn’t surprising that it features fantastic build quality. The 1920×1080 Full HD resolution results in a decent pixel density of 90 PPI (pixels per inch) on the 24.Remember, it's not just about that 360Hz refresh rate – the response times are also a big improvement here, and I've used 144Hz monitors that felt much worse due to smeary motion. I turned on the AW2523HF’s frame indicator to monitor rates and saw around 300 fps when playing Doom Eternal. I discovered that there is a gamma control in the Console Mode sub-menu, which is not usually found on Dell gaming monitors.

Alienware's AW2521H – not to be confused with Alienware's way-too-similarly-named Alienware AW2521HF, a cheaper 240Hz monitor – mostly sets itself apart from Asus' 360Hz model in design. You’ve probably come across some of ASUS’s gaming monitors before because they tend to come with advanced features, oftentimes industry-leading. The panel also has slightly above average contrast with ratios nearing 1,200:1, not bad for IPS in general. The toggle on and off for it is also super simple, just using a directional input from the joystick.

My testing also found that the less expensive screen had no dimming feature to increase HDR contrast. In the three Game modes, color saturation controls are available, but there are no gamma or grayscale adjustments. The Alienware AW2521H is a lot like the AW2521HF, but this model is clearly a cut above the latter when it comes to its specs. This sounds like my reason for still using a CRT to play old games on my i7 PC at 800x600 or 640x480, except those are running only at 60Hz or 85Hz at most. Though the HDR image won’t impress, HDR10 signals are supported with three different HDR modes and a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.

The rather thick monitor sits atop a two-legged stand with no adornments other than a few "G-Sync" and "360Hz" stickers that you can pull right off. There are plenty of features useful to gamers, like a headphone hook, USB ports, viewing enhancements, an aiming point, timers, and a large selection of picture modes. The AlienFX Lighting menu lets you change color, brightness and effect for the upright and panel’s LEDs. Apart from the power button, which contains a built-in LED ring, the only lighting comes from the back of the stand, which reflects off your wall for some nice subtle bias lighting. The AW2521H's overdrive feature (labeled Response Time in the menu) can improve motion even further, though it does introduce slight haloing artifacts.

A high refresh rate monitor will significantly reduce the chances of this happening, provided your reaction times are on par. Acer didn’t cut any corners here, which is why you’re looking at an IPS panel with excellent viewing angles and overall color reproduction. If you’re the kind of person that enjoys good visuals and not just the highest refresh rate possible, this will make a massive difference.Inside the upright, visible from the front, is a convenient graduated number scale so you can remember your height setting when moving the AW2521H from place to place. Note that the backlight of the Dell Alienware AW2521H display is flicker-free (unless ULMB is enabled), so it won’t cause headaches/eye strain to those sensitive to flickering. But, while they do all that rather well, and also get you the best contrast ratios, they also come with the worst response times – not something you want for competitive gaming. Panel uniformity for the Alienware AW2521H is decent save for when an all-black image is displayed on the screen. You also have to sacrifice resolution and screen size, which isn't ideal for more casual gamers with mixed preferences.
