Description

This would be a good beach read. No in depth characters to analyze, but a fun plot. And the ending is not believable, but it was still fun. The ending wrapped things up pretty well but did little to change my mind about the entirety of the book. The book begins with this epigraph: It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.” William Blake I love this author! I read 29 seconds last year and after I read that one I was hooked and wanted to read all of the author's books.

Summary and reviews of Lies by T. M. Logan - BookBrowse Summary and reviews of Lies by T. M. Logan - BookBrowse

Joe Lynch did when his young son, Will, spotted his wife’s car in traffic, he followed, intrigued as she turned into a hotel car park. Just one impulsive decision and BAM, Joe’s life will never be the same. Not for him, his family or their friends either. I absolutely loved Joe as a father. For everything that frustrated me about him as a husband (seriously, Joe, she is in a hotel with another man in the middle of the work day!), Joe redeemed himself as a friend and as a father. Joe is truly one of the good ones. Believing others can change, and believing that if you act with goodness, the truth will prevail. When Ellen Devlin boards the train to London after a fertility appointment, she doesn't expect to get off the train with a baby in tow, left to her by Kathryn Clifton. She was just meant to hold the baby for a few minutes, so Kathryn could have some respite and make a phone call, but as the train pulls into a station and Kathryn gets off, Ellen is left with the baby and a desperately scribbled note asking her to protect baby Mia and not to trust the police or anyone. A baby is all Ellen has wanted, as she cannot produce her own biological child, so being forced to protect Mia means Ellen taps into her motherly instincts and will do all she can to ensure her safety. What follows is a fast-paced, gripping twisty thriller that had me hooked. The rest of TRUST ME unfolds from multiple perspectives in a very, very, very drawn-out matter, with continuous elements of disbelief. While driving home with his young son, Joe Lynch spies his wife’s Melisa’s car turn into a hotel parking lot. He makes the decision to follow her--a decision he will come to regret. What happens next results in Joe being framed for a terrible crime. As Joe fights to prove his innocence, he comes to realize his happily ever after has been built on lies. A boring game of cat and mouse ensues.

Joe is an incredible character. He has so much love to give and such a pure heart. Even when faced with a mountain of lies, Joe wants to believe the best in Mel. Joe is almost too good for the outside world. He always tries to do what is right. When he lies, it is because he truly thinks he is protecting someone he loves. And this pureness of heart is exactly why Joe can be lied to so easily. The Catch book ending then jumped to a year later when Claire and Abbie were laying flowers on Ed and his son’s graves. Ed’s body had been found on the moor, as had the bodies of Ryan’s first wife Lori, his foster mother Eileen and two other unidentified women. By this time Abbie had given birth to her and Ryan’s son and the final words of the book reveal that his eyes were, “His father’s eyes”. Even though the book's ending never, ever could have happened in real life.....it was a strong ending. The long wait to get to those final chapters, however, was painful. The texts suggest an affair and a plan to figure out “what to do” while they are both in France...which means that the woman involved is also on this trip, and that means it’s one of her best friends.. Ellen was one of those characters that I felt empathy for but frustrated with at the same time. Separated from her husband and desperately wanting a baby of her own, there were times when some decisions she made had me shouting in my head “why are you doing that…” and I had a horrible feeling that things wouldn’t end well, however her protective instinct towards a stranger’s baby and the unknown danger that they both faced, spurred her on.

Lies by T.M. Logan | Waterstones

What if you have the perfect life, the perfect wife and the perfect child - and then, in one shattering moment, you discover nothing is as it seems? But when Katy discovers some anonymous messages on her husband’s phone, she starts to wonder if he is having an affair. Well, truly I hate the guts of the characters. I didn’t care what will happen to them! I didn’t care one of them die, hurt, get abused, terrorized, kidnapped, wounded etc. But I have to admit they’re the ensemble to get awarded as the worst unlikeable characters, have no idea why they’re created! of ancient Scottish descent. Logan received his education at South Carolina College, located in Columbia. He graduated in 1860, standing first in his class. [4] Civil War service [ edit ] It's the evening drive home from work, a route Joe Lynch has taken a hundred times with his young son. But when he unexpectedly sees his wife's car ahead of them, he decides to follow her - and ends up witnessing her secret rendezvous with another man. The encounter will tear two families apart and leave an innocent man set up to take the fall for a murder. His brand new novel, THE MOTHER, is a twisty, fast-paced thriller about a woman betrayed and her search for redemption against all the odds. Because if she can't discover who framed her for murder, she will never see her sons again... the book only really started to get juicy like just over the middle mark- mystery novels are supposed to reveal small peices of the story little by little but this book just kept giving me questions and not a single answer. While I pretty much detested every single character in this book (some waaaaay more than others), I simply couldn’t put it down! So full of lies, secrets and drama - I loved every minute of it! As the book moves along, I enjoyed watching everything crumble and couldn’t look away!

Lies: From the author of Netflix hit THE HOLIDAY, a gripping

I listened to an audio version of this book as was already reading something else and Emma Gregory is a very good narrator. If you’ve yet to read T.M. Logan’s The Catch book then you might well be a little surprised by the changes that have reportedly been made to the Collier family and their home in the gripping Channel 5 show. In the Channel 5 drama which starts on January 25, as per RadioTimes.com, the setting is now the coast of the South West of England where Ed is a fisherman. Twisted, dark, heart-pounding, deceptive, distorted fun—do not start this book if you don’t have time to stay up late into the night reading it! It is that hard to put down! When we began this read, I thought it would be a good old-fashioned domestic noir novel. But it blew my expectations out of the water. My mind thought of dozens of scenarios, but not a single one I thought of was THAT twist! I loved it! After the first half of the book it became a very addictive read. I was captivated in the story and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. I was so intrigued. It was a big surprise with jaw dropping moments and lots of twists and turns. This was not a predictable read at all.

Need Help?

Well this was certainly a thrill a minute story. Written mostly from Ellen's perspective it was very much plot driven, with the story whizzing about all over the place keeping the adrenaline flowing. The characters in the story were hugely interesting and believable, which made it really difficult to know who to trust, I was doubting EVERYONE! Ellen had real guts and determination - once she became attached to Mia she wasn’t going to let her go in a hurry - despite the constant danger. The psychological aspect of this story was off the charts. It had a wonderful start, pulling me in immediately. However, I got bogged down in the middle as too many scenarios had my brain spinning. Fortunately, the last half took a turn and was impossible to put down. The ending was exciting and there’s a sweet little twist at the end. I enjoyed the story despite that slow down in the middle. That’s two books by this author that provided compelling reading experiences and he’s now an auto read. 3.5 stars

The Catch by T.M. Logan | Goodreads The Catch by T.M. Logan | Goodreads

Overall, a highly entertaining and well written thriller containing all the essential ingredients of the genre. Full of unexpected twists and turns, this psychological thriller will leave readers eager for Logan's next book." - Publishers Weekly First off I completely disliked the main protagonist, Kate. She starts off the trip already completely unnerved and distrusting everyone because she feels as though her husband is having an affair. She is sure it is one of the three women that are along on this trip. She only has this assumption because she has seen some messages on her husband Sean’s cell phone that sound to her like they are from another woman and sound intimate. Rather than asking her husband of 25 years flat out, or questioning her friends, she goes about the entire vacation ruminating and talking about her assumptions. It got incredibly tiresome. Joe soon discovers that the barb of his wife's betrayal is just the beginning of what he's about to face in the following days to come. The final woman in the mix is Izzy, a woman who never married and doesn’t have children. She endured a tragedy and has spent the last few decades traveling the world. Forget about solving all these crimes; the signal triumph here is (spoiler) the heroine’s survival. This started off on a train, and I like these settings. They seem to remind me of Liam Neeson being a transit worker (or what is it when they are on a plane and have authority?) A marshal. That's it. I think Ellen that was minding her own business that fateful day may have needed the help of someone like the awesome Mr Neeson!
