Description

The previous ID-Cooling AIO’s we have tested have all been solid performers…and the Frostflow+ 280 is no different. Thermals were kept under control superbly well, and beat off competition from some pretty big names in our ever-expanding league tables.

ID-COOLING

Comet-Tail LED, 240mm Radiator, Copper Base, Dual High Pressure Pump, High Static Pressure Fan, Wide Compatibility Regular visitors to Play3r will know that we have been impressed with the two 240mm AIO coolers that we have been sent by ID-Cooling to date… namely the FrostFlow 240Land the ICEKIMO 240W. This time we have one of the 120mm varieties on the test bench in the shape of the FrostFlow 120. Does half the size equal half the performance? Or will it rub shoulders with its bigger brothers on the Play3r CPU cooling charts? Just received my PC today, was wondering if there is a way to control the RGB lights on the case, the processor cooling and the RAM in my PC? I want to control the case more than anything, it has all colours showing when the system is booting up but after that it just flashes red continously. I have posted my full specs below. Many thanks in advance!Another reason to use water cooling is if you have a slim case that doesn't have the space for a larger air cooler. On the other hand, a pump is much harder to replace than a fan if it broke, and while rare, the possibility of leaks within an electronic device can be scary. Regardless of which cooler you choose or need, this guide will cover many great options at every size and price point.

ID-COOLING FrostFlow 240L AIO CPU Cooler Review

Immersive ARGB Lighting, 360mm Radiator; Extra Cooling Fan, Innovative pump control system, Enhanced Pump Design; Universal Compatibility Touching closer on the included cooling fans, ID-COOLING have included 2 x 120mm PWM supported fans with a dynamic range of 800-2000RPM. Of course, at full speed these will be very noisy, but I can’t imagine many scenarios where the CPU will be bombing at 100% constantly other than rendering, in some poorly coded games and when benchmarking/using LINX. The maximum rated airflow of these fans at 2000RPM is 84.5CFM which is impressive, but of course with a radiator impeding air flow, the figures will be much lower in reality. I think I've partially solved my issue with custom curves, though. I will look at new fans in the near future (as this is a loud cooler at 50%+ usage). The Ryzen 9 7900 has a TDP of 65W and the Frostflow 150 supports 125W, so as long as I match the fan performance I can't imagine there would be any cooling issues, as long as the fans fit the unit correctly. This is my question - does anyone know of any idiosyncrasies of Frostflow coolers that would prevent me fitting matching fans of another (quieter) brand? It should also be noted that the reason we omit acoustic/noise testing is due to accuracy within the readings. To provide truly accurate readings, you need a lab setting with the same ambient noise on a hour by hour, day by day and week by week basis. As ambient noise can increase at different times of the day, we believe that it’s pointless providing noise testing if we can’t measure consistent and accurate data due to our office being a busy setting. Test SetupIt's a common mistake to assume that any water cooler is inherently better than any air cooler. Liquid coolers do have some undeniable advantages, but a specific cooler's design is critically important, and some air coolers perform better than some water coolers. Generally speaking, you can expect bigger coolers of either design to outperform smaller ones, simply because larger coolers generally have more metal within to spread out absorbed heat and can typically mount more or bigger fans. Both of these factors contribute to more efficient cooling.\ This is my build and I'm deciding if i need to spend the extra money between the PCS FROSTFLOW 360 SERIES ARGB COOLER or CORSAIR H150I RGB PRO XT CPU COOLER, which one is better? the same? or performance? The one down side that I witnessed was that the pump is fairly noisy. This was perhaps exaggerated by running it on our open-air test bench, and it wouldn’t be as distracting when installed into a case, but it was still the loudest I have come across for quite a while. Design To test each cooler at idle, the minimum temperature is taken after leaving the PC with only start-up programs on Windows 10 being allowed to run for 5 minutes. After this, the minimum temperature with the core temperature being offset against the room temperature; thus achieving delta. Load Testing Methodology

The Best CPU Coolers - Late 2023 Update | TechSpot

This air cooler is an unusual entry in our list—the only one not built by a familiar industry leader. The Alseye DR900 is the lowest-priced cooler in this group, but its features and value make it an enticing option if you're working on a budget build for which you want equal parts bling and cooling. The former flair comes in the form of three standard 90mm PWM fans with RGB LED lighting. Gaming PCs Liquid Series® PCs Video Editing PCs Pro Audio Computers Professional Workstations Desktop PCs When powered up and dependant on your choice of colour for the Frostflow 240L, the outer ring with the LED panels will illuminate in a circular motion. This may not be to everyone’s taste and as there aren’t any additional settings or modes available, this is what you get and if you don’t like it, tough! Before going any further, if you're a PC-building beginner, you'll want to read our deep-dive PC Cooling 101 guide to learn everything you need to know about CPU coolers. We'll summarize a few points from that article here, but won't be covering it in anywhere near the same depth. This covers the changes we would recommend. Had to substitute the CPU with the 3600 as 3600x isn't available on the config.
