He needs to go find out if this attraction is real, or if it was a one time thing only. Except he doesn't tell Mia he knows her *secret*. From the start, we know Garrett likes to watch. And we know he has an infuriating stepsister, 13 younger than him, that gets on his nerves. He used to make fun of her, but it wasn't because he was mean. It was just his way of expressing himself around her, of showing her he cared. Because this man cares. He may even care too much about everything, but he goes to great lengths not to show it. Why? Let's just say I absolutely understand him. My point exactly.” He rolls his eyes before nodding. “Well, there’s a difference. You just said things between you and Mia are casual. Unless it’s not…”

Mia has always been his little stepsister but when Garrett sees Mia on a popular cam girl app suddenly he’s figuring out just how attracted to her he is. He decided to join the family at the cabin for a couple of weeks to figure out what this attraction to Mia is about. He doesn’t expect that it’s so much more than just an attraction. In the meantime, Garrett can't stop talking to her with his online avatar. He can't stop himself from wanting to know more, and from telling her more about him. He's hiding more than she knows. And when we're allowed to see what that is, it left tears in my eyes. Superficial characters with no distinguishable personality traits other than voyeur and exhibitionist. i was expecting a bit more “taboo” since this is a step-siblings romance but honestly it was barely mentioned that I forgot for almost the entirety of the book that they were. And honestly, Garret didn’t work for me from the beginning— he starts the book with this complaint about 1NS not wanting to get hella kinky with him, and like 1) why are you framing this as “oh poor me, my sexual partners keep telling me no when I want them to do sex acts, I’ve been done so dirty” like people do not ~owe~ you their consent?!? Just bc you want to do something doesn’t mean your partner has to say yes!!! And also 2) kink requires trust, so like not surprising people aren’t down for public sex right out of the gate. Earn it!!!

Man, I had to take breaks in between because things were so intense and my emotions were in overdrive. The same thing also happened when I read Praise and I’m expecting the same thing to happen with the rest of the series. And the way sex kinks are being explored… 😮‍💨 it’s top tier stuff.

Everything comes full circle in this book and I loved seeing an empowered woman embrace her sexuality and a lost and misunderstood man finally be free to be himself. I would say the theme for this book is heavy in self acceptance and I absolutely loved it. Salacious Players Club Series Review for a book about a sex worker, the language around sex work in this book is NOT positive in the least He could have just logged off, but he just can't. So he starts talking to her, under someone else's name. Another man. He never shows himself, so how would she ever know? And, this way, he can have a bit of her. He can also show a bit more of himself to her, like he's never done with anyone else. But is that enough? It's not, because he craves her. He wants her, and he doesn't know what to do with that feeling.Someday a man will come along who won’t like what you do. He’ll want you to himself because he thinks you’re nothing more than a body he can control, and it will be because he’s insecure. A real man knows that truly possessing someone is a privilege, and it’s not their body you’ll own. It’s so much more. I want you to know the difference, Mia. What I Loved I think I would add in more emotional elements into the story, there could have been more build-up where this is concerned and more focus on the manic depression that the hero suffers with, it was barely mentioned and I felt like there could have been a bit more focus on it to build character development. Overall View

And I’m not even sure what’s changed. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older and I’m becoming more comfortable experiencing things outside of my comfort zone and experimenting with things that I was previously closed off to, whether that is in books or in my own personal life. I’ve always been an open-minded person, but this trope crosses so many lines.

The second book in the Salacious Players Club series is Eyes on Me. First things first, this book has a taboo relationship, Garrett and Mia are step siblings. There is also like a 12 year age gap in this book between Garrett and Mia.
