As he claims, hope is the enemy of acceptance. He presents this in the helathcare sector, where he talks about how people should rather accept their condition and enjoy the years that they still have left instead of expensive and often unsuccessful prolonging treatments. I think my expectations were gearing up towards a romcom so this may have caused my rating to be a tad lower since I was expecting more romance. I loved the cultural aspect of the sister's Filipino heritage and the wedding planning. Also, the family dynamics was also very good but I was really wanting more romance. I feel like this was. a disappointment and the romances were missing. Arek and Matt were wonderful characters and I adored their love story, but I also absolutely loved their other friends, who were all fantastic characters their own right, supporting, confiding and challenging Arek at every necessary turn of his new reign. Interesting. Behavioural scientist Paul Dolan here aims to put together something which takes a utilitarian view of human sociology, especially with regards happiness. He groups his thoughts into three sections (each of three subjects) dealing with the themes of wealth/success, love/family, and self-determination, and asks us to reject the common (Western) narratives for each, which might be making us unhappy. What do you do when a book friend, a soon-to-be-famous author, tells you to rate this story five stars; otherwise, he’ll take it personally? Well, rate the story five stars 😂!

Happily Ever After?: Women’s Fiction in Postwar Britain 1945 Happily Ever After?: Women’s Fiction in Postwar Britain 1945

Gregory aims to find a true love match, just like his parents had. He sets his sights on Hermione Watson, but unfortunately, she is already in love with someone else. Hermione’s best friend, the engaged Lady Lucinda Abernathy, offers to help him win her over. But soon, Lucy starts falling for Gregory herself. Well, there is no shortage of fun and excitement like the sudden snowmageddon in the middle of spring, and other dramas that sure kept this story fun! This part was the most surprising to me. Here the author questions whether we should all strive for being fit and living for as long as possible. This always seemed to me natural and unquestionable - being healthy is the non-defective function of being alive, right? He claims that for some people, being fit is not such a value and that they might be happier living their habbits that contradict good health (smoking, body building).

Pamper product – there will be a different product every month to give you a indulgent self treat e.g. bath bomb, face mask etc The author makes you ask if you'd rather your friend follow each of these narrative or rather be happy. He asks the same questions about yourselves. He reveals that most of us force ourselves to follow the narratives but are much less strict with frineds to whom we rather wish happiness even if it should mean that they would not follow these socially accepted norms.

D'Alessandro, Anthony (September 8, 2020). " 'After' Sequels 'After We Fell' & 'After Ever Happy' Going Into Production; Castille Landon To Direct – Updated". Deadline. Archived from the original on September 20, 2020 . Retrieved February 21, 2022. The premise of this is fun, but the execution is very fanfic-esque, both in plot and writing style. Arthurian legend is mentioned in the synopsis, but if you are actually looking for something with any significant connection to Arthurian legend I would probably not recommend this. (Side tangent: I really wish the marketing trend of saying, "This book is XYZ book meets Blah Blah Blah other book" would die because it's almost always wrong and almost never helpful.) This book features modern characters with modern sensibilities and speech patterns dropped into a vaguely medieval, fantasy world. I guess there's a sort of Merlin character and a guy who acquires a magic sword in a weird way, but that's as far as the Arthurian thing really seems to go. Does the cost of their customers’ Happily Ever After worth their sanity, their sacrifices, and their own relationships? Photography took place in Bulgaria and wrapped production in December 2020. Landon stated that the novel series' realistic analysis of love, drew her to join the production, stating that her intent while directing the projects was to show that "romance isn't always beautiful". [8] During production, the cast worked closely together and stayed in a hotel in a more isolated manner, while cameras weren't rolling, due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and protocols. [9] Release [ edit ]Much like Lukens' earlier cryptid series, " The Rules", this new book was fun and quirky, and let's face it, a little weird, too. In other words, it was right up my alley. 😁 The romance had me in a chokehold from the start. If I haven’t implied it a thousand times in this review alone, best-friend-to-lovers is my absolute favourite romance trope, so I was bound to love Matt and Arek fiercely. Their opposing personalities made their dynamic all the more interesting, with Arek being impulsive and sarcastic, while Matt was his counterpart, responsible and put-together. The miscommunication trope is rampant, relied upon to drive the conflict between Matt and Arek, though I found I was surprisingly unbothered by it, too swept up in the whimsy of the story as a whole. the characters in this book, both the found family and the romance, were so fun and honestly well developed in my opinion. throughout the story, arek grew so much in his self respect, his ambitions, and his diplomacy. and his best friend matt, the voice of logic, was so relatable. while arek was the chaotic “chosen one” with a crush on everybody in sight, matt was his balancer, a mage who’s quarters are the library, the

At its heart, The Key to Happily Ever After follows three sisters as they come to inherit their family's business - and how this inevitably challenges their relationships with each other. I also thought the bright robin’s egg blue and yellow on the cover was so eye catching and I was instantly curious about this one and gladly agreed to read it! Carry On meets Arthurian legend in this funny, subversive young adult fantasy about what happens after the chosen one wins the kingdom and has to get married to keep it…and to stay alive. The Key to Happily Ever After by Tif Marcelo follows sisters Mari, Jane and Pearl de la Rosa as the three have just inherited the family's wedding planning business Rings and Roses from their parents. Every chapter has a specific song-themed title and the POV shifts between the sisters.

LaBonte, Rachel (February 16, 2022). "After 4 Movie Poster Shows Tessa & Hardin's Return". Screen Rant. Archived from the original on June 1, 2022 . Retrieved February 21, 2022. the blurb that describes it as 'carry on' crossed with arthurian legend? spot on. the writing style reminded me of 'carry on' so much that i very much wondered if i was reading merthur fanfiction towards the beginning. i have literally never read a more accurate description, which is funny because a lot of newer ya fantasy novels are compared to older, more popular ones and usually end up disappointing, usually because what we get isn't what we were promised. Tessa takes double shifts to avoid Hardin, but Landon and Hardin come to her restaurant and request her as their server. Hardin stays until she's off work and they talk about how they've been; Hardin's sobriety and Tessa waiting to get accepted into NYU. Over the next couple of days, they spend time together, slowly reconnecting, during which Landon finally starts a romantic relationship with Nora, much to Hardin and Tessa's happiness.

So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens | Goodreads So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens | Goodreads

We want the happy ending, we need it, and we deserve it. Life is stressful and hard and we want this escape. We need to see love claim victory over everything else. We’ve invested time and money and emotional capital in a book labeled “Romance” and we deserve the happiness promised to us by that label. My ARC copy of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley for a fair, unbiased review.
