Starts off promising. Hope it stays like this. Not many books handle the details of Terra! so I'm really looking forward to it. But he does a great job and gives the right feeling already for fans of the whole 40k books in the start. As per my main prediction but Ollanius kills the Emperor, because the Emperor is going to kill Horus and doom humanity.

For the best viewing experience, we recommend using old reddit version - https://old.reddit.com/r/40kLore/ The sheer density of prose in this book makes it boring and awkward to read. Lots and nothing happens because of it. It could comfortably be half as long and still make perfect sense. Someone needs to make a list of all the plot threads that currently are lined up for this book, top of my head its basilo flo, loken, keeler, perpetuals, any meaning to the erebus/arda thing. Tho probably forgetting some/lots. Now he's a meat puppet there's no investment in any conflict between him and other characters anymore because he's not a character anymore, he's more of a rabid dog than Angron is that really just needs to be put down. Table of Contents

I have read every book, short story and novella in both the Horus Heresy and Siege of Terra series and this is a fitting beginning to the end if ever I heard one. Parts 9 and 10 of the 8 part series. We will see if there is an 11th, not like they ever lied about how many book the siege will be before right?...

The first half of the book is genuinely amazing, a mood piece, seeing 60+ books of main characters all reduced to essentially Dark souls NPC's in a world that has well and truly fallen apart. It's fair to say there is a lot going on, and this wouldn't be the book you would start with, but it's got some great things to recommend it. I really like the way that Malcador is in the first person - and Horus Lupercal in the second... with all other stories being in the third person. It takes a bit of time to get used to, but its a great way of telling the reader which protagonist is currently centre stage.A subreddit for the lore and stories encompassing the dark future of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise Now is the perfect time to catch up on all 62 books from the Horus Heresy . Or, at the very least the eight currently available Siege of Terra novels.* Pushed for time? Get a recap of the events from The Solar War to Echoes of Eternity right here . Abnett and his editor should have focused on the actual story he was meant to be telling not trying to write parts of earlier books that he seems to have wanted to contribute to. Even plotlines Abnett seems to be actively attempting to continue are done so with significant amounts of unnecessary repetition that usually doesn't achieve anything.
