They wrote an engaging, slow burn, character driven story by creating one of the most interesting fictional character: yes, Avery became one of my all time favorite heroines! Avery’s stepdaughter Lana and her new boyfriend Greg come over. But Skyler, Cameron’s ex wife, comes over too and threatens Avery. Uh oh: Marissa’s Keeping a Secret This is an easy to read, entertaining novel – contemporary family drama rolled into psychological suspense thriller. Each new chapter keeps you guessing. Every time I felt I had it all figured out, the plot twist turned it on it's head. I could not put the book down until the very end.

First off, I am BEYOND happy I gave this writing duo another shot, and I can't stress that enough. I had VERY strong feelings about The Wife Between Us, and they were not positive feelings. I remember almost tossing my e-reader in frustration at the time because things were so OTT in that book, at least for me, and I was pretty sure they weren't the writers for me.Sophie and Bryce are known as "the golden couple" at their high school, but everything changes for them when Bryce is diagnosed with cancer.

If Avery Chambers can’t fix you in ten sessions, she won’t take you on as a client. She helps people overcome everything, from anxiety to domineering parents. Her successes almost help her absorb the emptiness she feels since her husband’s death. it's still fun to read these goofy psych suspense books where all the characters are dialed up to 10 on the drama scale and married couples are so full of secrets.

This book was too sad, like it was way too sad but it was amazing and I enjoyed even though it broke my heart. This isn’t quite 5 stars because I would’ve liked to see Sophie completely happy, like with her new partner and her new life. This story is not your typical mystery. There’s no dead body or traditional crime to solve. But that doesn’t make it any less suspenseful. Flashing like the neon displays in Piccadilly Circus, they couldn’t have advertised things more clearly. I was hoping for more of a wow moment, but for me, it was just a hmmm moment. I didn't quite get the thrills I was anticipating, although it was an entertaining ride. Maybe more of bumpy road than a fast rollercoaster.
