The first single from the album FRONTLINE is out now and it has just been added to the BBC Radio 6 Music playlist I ask how she felt about the death of the Specials’ singer, Terry Hall. She says she was far closer to Ranking Roger, from the Beat, and was very upset when he died, in 2019 (one of the songs on Human Algebra, Parade the Crown, is a tribute). About Hall, she says: “I didn’t know Terry that well. I didn’t know Terry from the 2 Tone tour, and he just wasn’t a person that… We didn’t warm to each other, but I did admire his talent. His talent was mighty.” We’re very pleased to announce that Emily Capellwill be supporting us on our 40th Anniversary tour in the UK later this year.Gigging Northern Ireland – www.giggingni.com " INTERVIEW: The Selecter". In the last few years The Selecter celebrated their 40th Anniversary and returned to the Official UK Charts in April with a reissue of their debut album Too Much Pressure. What will be more surprising to most is that they’ve been almost consistently producing music since. This is their 16 th studio album. Well, she was 10 years older than all of us. And if Debbie Harry turns up, everybody looks like chopped liver, don’t they? Where do we fit into all this?’ There were other photos taken, she says, where she and Poly weren’t included. In 2021 The Selecter performed at festivals & shows plus Pauline performed in the Coventry City of Culture opening ceremony, took part in numerous media events, was a proud supporter of the first dedicated 2-Tone exhibition at the Herbert Museum, launched & attended the Mobo Awards in Coventry and she also presented this year’s Turner Prize.
