This watch is is a representation of a 1940 Panerai 6152, Marina Militare: It was produced for the Italian Navy, and would have had a Rolex 618 movement. Not many survive, actual numbers aren’t known for sure but its probably less than 100. If you see an ‘original' for sale anywhere but a very expensive auction house you can be certain its a fake. I've just been landed with two cases of Eaglemoss Military Watches, the ones you buy every month that comes with a magazine. Based in England, Eaglemoss Collectables entered into “administration”— a UK status analogous to bankruptcy in the United States — and the company’s online web shops went offline as all communication from the Eaglemoss team ended, leaving Star Trek fans and collectors wondering just what was going on. Did you receive the correct front right door (no review mirror opening) as part of 91 or were you waiting for it as part of 107? Again, I’m not completely privy to everything and I haven’t seen all the numbers and all that, but the general impression that I get from the inside is they tried to grow too fast and that it’s toppled over. That’s not just related to the Star Trek stuff, or the science fiction ship stuff, it’s the whole business — they were very keen to make it grow very aggressively. ROBINSON: That’s a good question. I’m not privy to everything that’s happened, but essentially, the owners of Eaglemoss pursued a strategy of very aggressive expansion and aggressive growth — with the intention of making the company as attractive to a potential buyer as possible.
