zoom extends available space with a flexible range of throw distances for big-screen entertainment without the hassle of complicated installation. If your selected projector has a Zoom Lens then the projector's Throw Distance or Image Size can be finely adjusted by moving the calculator, you will see dimension lines that will tell you the height, width, and diagonal measurements of your image. Calculating a Throw Distance when you know the IMAGE SIZE In general for such a low priced projector BenQ did a good job quality wise. The TK800M may not turn heads by it’s appearance but it is what is hidden underneath that matters the most and the designers did good to spend most of the budget to give this projector a very welcome boost in it’s performance. TK800M’s aluminum driver diaphragm performs the pure vocals and delicate details in mid- and high frequencies.

One small weakness that pixel shifting projectors have in terms of design is the usually more noise they produce compared to the native 4K ones. This has to do with the fact that pixel shifters produce noise not only from their cooling systems and fans but also from their pixel shifting system which in some cases produce a slight buzzing. Countering the trapezoid effect when the projector must be placed off-center, such as simple placement on top of a table, the vertical keystone function adjusts the image for a professionally squared image. Keystone correction makes it simple to project ideally aligned images from a variety of locations. And so now it seems that BenQ decided to release an improved version of it’s brightness capable model with a few worthy updates compared to it’s predecessor. The TK800M belongs to the Home Entertainment Projectors series which is supposed to be the most mainstream series from BenQ and since we didn’t have the chance to review the previous model it is now the perfect opportunity to test the new 2019 version and determine how similar, or not, it remains to it’s brother the HT2550. So without further delay let’s see what is on offer. DesignThat extra pop was apparent while sailing the seas in Sea of Thieves. The reflection of the sun in the waves or the explosion of a nearby volcano stood out nicely against the overcast sky, especially while playing in a dark room. The HDR highlights looked pretty good during the day as well. fit your image onto a screen you need a projection calculator tool or throw chart to tell you the image size dimensions at the corresponding Finally, projectors can be important tools for sharing information and giving presentations in addition to their entertainment uses. BenQ offers a wide range of business and interactive classroom projectors that provide as much as 5,000 lumens of brightness to fill projector screens, even in rooms with harsh ambient light. How Long Will a BenQ Projector Last? The sharpness of the image is undoubtedly helped by the single chip nature of this projector, which means there are none of the alignment issues found on three-chip machines. However that does mean that the TK800 has to use a color wheel, and this can result in rainbows for certain people who are susceptible to the effect. The lens features a new 7-Element 4-Group arrangement of glass to try and minimise the effects of chromatic aberration by using low dispersion lens coatings and improve sharpness of the image from edge to edge and top to bottom. Being a single chip device also means there are no issues with panel alignment, which can be a slight issue for the 3-chip machines from Epson, Sony and JVC.

The BenQ TK800M features a very curvy design that is very characteristic of BenQ projectors as from the first look you can understand this is one of their models. Featuring a size of 13.9 x 5.31 x 10.71 inch (353 x 135 x 272 mm) and weight of 9.26 lbs (4.2 kg) this projector is definitely made with portability in mind and you will understand why from many of the features it comes equipped with. In general it is a bit bigger than many Full HD projectors but this is normal for almost all 4K projectors either it be native of pixel shifting ones. BenQ digital projectors come with a 3-year warranty in the US and Canada. The limited warranty on a new projector covers hardware and assembly defects, extending to all major components except the projector lamps. LED lamps and Laser projector light sources come with their own warranties, which differ depending on the product. Conventional lamps get a 2,000-hour warranty, for example. Sport Picture Mode renders realistic skin shades, warm wood tones, and vivid reds with balanced green and blue for stunning big-screen projection of fast-paced indoor sports action on wooden courts. And Sport Sound Mode accentuates the announcer's commentary and clear acoustic details of squeaking sneakers, referee whistles, and scraping skates in an indoor arena. BenQ also state that the TK800 has auto HDR optimised colour rendition technology which matches the content to the native capabilities of the projector, to try and give a bright and more colourful image, over normal HD material. However the TK800 will only get close to the HD Rec.709 colour standard and nowhere near the current DCI-P3 gamut being used by Hollywood on UHD Blu-rays and the like within the Rec.2020 container. This means the projector is not wide colour gamut compatible, it will display UHD Blu-ray and other wide colour material in the Rec.709 HD standard. So again, it is worth cutting through some of the marketing to get to the actual performance parameters. Rec.709 done correctly is perfectly fine for this projector and the price point; it can look stunning when done correctly, we just feel BenQ need to be a little clearer on the specifications and less vague with the marketing. It doesn't hurt that the projector is really bright, which means that even with SDR content it can deliver images that have genuine impact, even in less-than-ideal conditions. As such you can use the TK800 in a room with white walls or big windows, and still enjoy a huge projected image. On portable projectors, battery life is an additional factor that may influence how long the item lasts. Most portable models use lithium-ion batteries rated for between 500 and 2,000 charge cycles. The amount of ports provided are more than enough for any basic setup. The analogue audio ports are obviously there to maximize the portability efficiency of the projector while the inclusion of a HDMI 2.0 port means that the TK800M supports 4K/60fps content which is definitely welcome. OS, Apps and Features The BenQ TK800M sports a playful aesthetic composed of a curved white chassis with a powder blue faceplate. The device is smaller than many typical projectors, plus it only weighs in at a little over nine pounds. This design makes the model easy to transport, whether if you are bringing it to a party or just setting it up in your patio or garage. The BenQ DGD5 3D Glasses create an immersive 3D viewing experience with BenQ's DLP Link-enabled projectors. The glasses have an estimated 30 hour continuous run time between recharging. * may be worn over most prescription eyeglasses * compatible with all BenQ DLP-link 3D projectors. Contrast Ratio
