Because I had painted a burgundy carapace, I wanted the skin to contrast with it, and pull from colours that matched the pelagic influences on some of the new miniatures. I started with Celestra Grey , and glazed down with colours like Fenrisian Grey and The Fang , and shaded the darkest areas with Druchii Violet , to keep everything suitably menacing. Will: Custom Splinter Fleet When it comes to Warhammer, you’ll most often find tentacles on models related to Nurgle, whether in Age of Sigmar or Warhammer 40,000, though Tyranids frequently sport them as well. Emma: I’ve been painting for many years, and Contrast is one of the most fun and versatile paint ranges I’ve worked with. They are easy and fun to use, making armies faster than ever to paint. Emma: It’s so yellow! Bad Moon Yellow covers really well all over for a clean, sharp yellow that’s super bright. It’s great on armour panels for Bad Moons – of course – and Ironjawz!

Attaching all the branches can be a pain in the rear. I recommend starting from the top and working your way to the bottom, with the base pieces left off. Generally, you want to have the smaller branches toward the top and the larger branches toward the bottom. Dry fit the branches before you glue them on and find out which branches you want to go where, you should aim for a nicely shaped crown with the leaves and branches spread out evenly. Emma: This colour is all about punch, it’s so bright and powerful. Doomfire Magenta straight out of the pot gives you a vivid pink for cloth or magic spells. It also suits Daughters of Khaine or Escher Gangers if you want some cool pink hair colours.

Blue Malayan Coral Snake : The effect on the body was achieved by using thinned Frostheart Contrast with a White Scar drybrush, wet blending with Blood Angels Red Contrast for the head and tail. Scales are Leviadon Blue with a Blue Horror drybrush. Emma: Gutrippa Flesh is terrific and will save a lot of time when painting Kruleboyz or Gretchin as it gives an excellent base colour and shade that suits these boyz down to the ground. It’s really great for camo cloth too! A lot of these same schemes and colors can be used across the rest of the Saurus and even the Skinks. I plan on doing a slightly lighter version of this for my own Skinks. Follow my Green Flames Rev iii for the recipe for the flames. Always do last as you can apply some minor OSL. Next comes the basecoat. I started here by laying down a coat of Pink Horror, then wet-blending that up to Emperor’s Children.

These were then shaded with Reikland Fleshshade. You want to make sure you’re using the new formula from GW to get the same effect and result as mine. Imperial Fist takes up the gauntlet thrown down by Nazdreg Yellow and Iyanden Yellow, pushing the pigment further and making yellow even more of a breeze to paint. Contrast blues are some of the most saturated paints in the range, and Pylar Glacier exists to slot in between Aethermatic Blue and Talassar Blue .Lizzie: Like many, painting yellow has always been a challenge for me. Not any more! Imperial Fist, alongside Ironjawz Yellow and Bad Moon Yellow, provides the perfect solution to your yellow painting needs. The sheer number of new additions to the range has totally spoiled us, and we can’t wait for you all to try them out! It’s amazing to see so many vibrant and punchy new colours, alongside some awesome subtle ones. The applications for these paints are endless. Emma: Baal Red is a pure, bright red. It’s versatile and easy to blend with other Contrast paints like Magmadroth Flame. I have used it for gemstones, armour plates on Orks , and plasma effects on Chaos Space Marine weapons.
