We’ve put together a list of 10 Best Tropical Rum Drinks – those that we remember fondly from our past vacations in the sun. What tropical rum drinks would make your list? Berry Bahama Mama: 2 parts Raspberry Rum, 1 part Coconut Rum, 2 parts cranberry juice, 1 part pineapple juice. Garnish with fresh raspberries and a lemon twist. The origins of the Bahama Mama are sketchy, but it’s likely to have been invented in the 1960s by Oswald “Slade” Greenslade, a Bahamian bartender working in the Nassau Beach Hotel. Bacardi Tropical is, well, exactly what it sounds like: white rum (from one of Bacardi’s big factories in Mexico or Puerto Rico, to be sure) flavored with (natural) notes of pineapple, coconut, and guava. In our version of the fruity rum drink, tropical-flavored rum and coconut rum are mixed with grenadine syrup, cranberry, and orange juices. Aged rum: Also known as golden rum or añejorum. Aging gives it notes of vanilla, coconut, almond, citrus, or caramel. Tropical Bahama Mama: 2 parts Mango Rum, 1 part White Rum, 1 part orange juice, 2 parts tropical punch, and a splash of grenadine. Garnish with a mango slice and a maraschino cherry.
