Description

Travel is the fourth theme of the Green-Schools programme. The Travel theme is funded by the Department of Transport and supported by the National Transport Authority. Congratulations!! You’ve completed your first Record Triggered Automation Flow! Last but not least, make sure to save and activate the flow. Spain's Balearic islands, Malta and Madeira were among the destinations added to the green list in the latest update to the UK's travel traffic light system. What is the largest country in Africa? Algeria. This is one of those geography trivia questions that always comes up.

While creating their Action Plan participating schools set Travel targets, with the ultimate aim of increasing the number of pupils walking, cycling, scooting, carpooling, using public transport or using park ‘n’ stride instead of the private car on the school run. The government wants to see more flags flown, particularly the Union Flag, the flag of the United Kingdom. It is a symbol of national unity and pride. The government has recently issued guidance encouraging the flying of the Union Flag on all UK government buildings throughout the year, alongside other national and local flags. You can fly flags on two separate flagpoles within the grounds (the regulations refer to “curtilage”) of a building at the same time subject to the conditions listed below: Flags are a very British way of expressing joy and pride – they are emotive symbols which can boost local and national identities, strengthen community cohesion and mark civic pride.

UK travellers arriving in Portugal will have to prove they have had two doses of a vaccine at least two weeks ago, or they have to isolate for 14 days. If you are travelling outside the EU, let us know so we can place a note on your account to say you are travelling. So, how many of these travel trivia questions do you think you got right? Did you find it easy or hard? The Green-Schools Travel Flag is awarded to schools that show a real commitment to making sustainable travel a reality. This means promoting walking, cycling, scooting and public transport, and encouraging parents and guardians to do the same. It also means reducing the number of car journeys made to and from school. In England, the flying of flags is treated as advertisements for the purposes of the planning regime to ensure the flags do not impact on safety or amenity. Some flags require formal consent (permission) from the local planning authority, whereas others like the Union Flag do not. The detailed controls over flag flying are set out in detailed regulations (see links below).

b) flags which do not need consent provided they comply with further restrictions (referred to as “deemed consent” in the Regulations) It means these countries "are at risk of moving from green to amber" and that passengers should "take extra care when thinking about travelling". A huge congratulations to MrRogan’s5thClass whom travelled to school using the most sustainable methods of transport this week. The vadst majority of Mr Rogan’s class have walked, cycled, car-pooled and Parked ‘n’ Strided this week which is a huge change from last year and made them the clear winner of the Golden Boot. This is Mr Rogan’s first time to win the Golden Boot but it may well not be the last. Well done guys. Who will win this week? I always feel that being a travel blogger I’ve got a bit of an unfair advantage when it comes to travel trivia, but hey, I’m not complaining. One of the reasons I love travelling so much is learning about different cultures and societies. I’ve always said travelling is the best education in the world because you just learn so much. The green list also consists of Gibraltar, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Brunei, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, plus several small remote islands that are British Overseas Territories. New additions to the red list include Eritrea, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Mongolia, Tunisia and Uganda. Which is the only US State to have a one syllable name? Maine. This one was an easy one, right? If you want some more US Trivia Questions, open up this quiz and see how well you can do. The bicycle shelter is filling up fast too which is great to see.Remember to wear your helmet when cycling & dismount at the gate. Do not cycle in the yard. Any flag not identified above requires express consent from the local planning authority before it can be flown. Further information

The Caribbean islands included are Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. We are delighted to announce we have been awarded our 4th Green Flag for Travel. Thanks to Ms. Ronan, our Green Flag Committee, all the boys, parents and teachers for their efforts. Our WOW & COW days have paid. Well done everyone! Resources (3) are containers that represent a given value, such as field values or formulas. You can reference resources throughout your flow. For example, look up an account’s ID, store that ID in a variable, and later reference that ID to update the account.Drag the white circle from the Decision Node to the Update Records you just created, and select the decision Yes Out of State | Done. To save time, you can simply duplicate the Update Records element you just created and update the criteria. They are also required to self-isolate at home for 10 days, although they can reduce that time if they take an additional negative test on day five.

All pupils, families and staff played a huge part in earning this particular flag over the past two years. The committee would like to express a special thank you to everyone who walked, cycled, parked n’ strided and carpooled. We appreciate it wasn’t always easy on those wet days but your efforts really paid off. We really hope you continue to use Greener methods of Travel in the future. Our yard was a hive of activity this morning as the 3 groups of boys from 2nd – 6th Class who cycled to school with a helmet took part in our Bike skills Workshop for Bike Week 2023. A huge thanks to our organising partner, Barry Casey from Louth Sports Partnership and Karl Doran from the Bike Station for taking the time to visit us and show the boys useful everyday skills including direction signals, cycle the plank and the slow race! Last but certainly not least, a big thanks to Ms Ronan and Ms McNally for organising what has been a brilliantly successful Bike week. However, it could noty have been such a success without our parent and pupil commitment. Which capital city has a name that means “good airs” in English? Buenos Aires in Argentina. Hopefully you knew that one. Applications for the Green Schools Travel Flag are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. To be in with a chance of having your school awarded the Flag, there are a number of things you can do: Following the UK’s departure from the European Union, the flag of the European Union is no longer included in the list of flags that do not require consent. (b) Flags which do not require consent provided they comply with certain restrictions Which capital city has the most Michelin stars in the world – London, Paris or Toyko? Tokyo. I always think this question is quite surprising!
