The limits of what you think you can accomplish are a comfortable, secure place where growth is hard. Why is growth hard in comfort? Because discomfort provides motivation to fuel the fires that keep you working toward something bigger.

3. Work on your goals a little each day.

When I rate a book three stars, it usually means indifference, that the book was neither especially good or bad. That I probably won't even remember it in a few days time. With Pushing the Limits that is not the case, it's more that I feel the positives and negatives equally balance each other out and the overall book falls somewhere in the middle of the rating scale because of it. If you keep telling yourself that you can only do X, then that’s all you’ll be able to do. Instead, if you recognize that your actual limits may be well beyond what you assume you can achieve, you’ll push yourself until you reach those higher levels of performance. From the first line of this book, I was drawn right into Echo’s world. With a mentally ill mother, an overly controlling father, and her beloved older brother dead, Echo’s life is far from perfect. Its stifling. And you can totally feel it. The story just grabs at your heart strings.
