Which brings me to the Fragrance of the Story: the much lauded, much hyped Lattafa -Khamrah. While it's officially an Arabic concoction considered the second coming of Angel's Share, a popular men's fragrance by Killian, most of us know it's only *loosely* inspired by the boozy apple pie juice. The bottle is duped. The scent? Meeeeh.

Like many of us, I don't like the idea of copying fragrances. Or rather, attempts to copy because really good copies do not exist. No imitation of a popular fragrance, whether it be Lost Cherry Tom Ford (which I think is the record holder for the number of imitations and fakes)or Angels' Share By Kilian, or La Vie Est Belle Lancôme, will smell as good as the original. It just won't smell the same. There can be no replacement and the quest to find a cheaper dupe is meaningless. My favorite tipsy angel with cognac-soaked wings, Angels' Share enjoys hot tea with cinnamon and candied fruit cake, readily breathes in the scent of cognac-aged oak barrels, warms up by the fireplace, squinting at the light of candles, and tells fairytales... The angel tells all these tales to adults because there is no need for drunk people to talk to children, and adults also sometimes want fairy tales.Khamrah is whatever you want it to be, but I assume most people'll wear this fragrance in the colder months of the year. It is also when it performs best, though I have worn it to bed in Fall and cooler Spring days. First of all my mom wanted this perfume to herself because she is always disappointed by most perfumes and wanted to try something new. She bought this from an online store and while a bit skeptical she was pleasantly surprised. On her it has a nice boozy, sweet, cinnamon scent. It has a “filling” vibe to it, like eating a warm apple pie. It has impressive longevity and sillage.

On the days the note, or better said: my skin, behaved the flower simply added sweetness that translated somehow as a very coconutty heart – straight into the base. Sladunjav parfem, sa veoma bogatom aromom karamele, cokolade, ali i konjaka, veoma dugostrajne postojanosti na tijelu kada se naspreja i veoma primaljivog mirisa! But Angels' Share immediately goes to an alcoholic side – cognac in all its forms, and its sweetness is completely European in spirit and taste. I have had this perfume in my house for a month now and it gets even more pleasant. I love how it gets more decadent as time goes, without the sweetness becoming too much. The fragrance opens on the sparkling, citrusy notes of bergamot, warmed by the spicy presence of cinnamon and nutmeg. Heart of the fragrance is the intense sweetness of dates that twists around the heady nuances of lily of the valley, the sensual ones of tuberose and the delicious notes of pralines. On the skin, the olfactory notes of toasted Tonka beans, vanilla, myrrh and amber wood will finally gently settle. Spicy Fragrances

A note of hazelnuts unfolds, and Khamrah smells exactly like the Iranian delicacy "ranginak": dates stuffed with nuts and rolled in toasted flour with cinnamon, cardamom and pistachios. While Khamrah unfolds and follows different steps in the pyramid it's in many ways pretty linear. The first whiffs are a good indication of what you'll keep. You'll just get a tad more sweetness from the very edible heart and a vanilla-warm-woody base to have both a longer lasting effect and depth. That spicy cinnamonroll/gingerbread opening stays with you - though in a more subdued way. And that's when I realized that I needed to say something about Khamrah Lattafa Perfumes, despite the bottle, despite the attempt to imitate another perfume, all the more strange because Khamrah is quite original and attractive precisely because of its originality. However, this is a separate big and painful topic, and now I want to explain how it happened that I undertook a review of a perfume that outwardly imitates the design of Angels' Share, and even a pyramid that seems to be trying to reach my favorite By Kilian fragrance.
