The last button is the “ Merge Control” button in the center. This button is there to turn on and off the synchronization of the looper and the drum machine. Sound quality is non-negotiable for any serious musician. The Donner Circle Looper Pedal ensures that your recordings and loops are crystal clear, thanks to its 44.1kHz 24-bit recording capability. It faithfully captures the nuances of your playing, ensuring that your musical creations sound as good as they should. Studio-Ready

Of course, there are some letdowns, like there is no volume level adjustment for the looper, but these can be overcome with different solutions. For the price, you can not expect everything to be perfect. First I have to commend you guys at Donner for delivering a great product at an affordable price. WELL DONE !!! The Circle also boast 2 control knobs to alter levels, which also function as buttons. Something you don’t get with the One. Here you just get 1 knob, with no extra button functiinality. In my opinion, the Donner Circle Looper Pedal has earned its place as a versatile and valuable tool for musicians and guitarists.I had been approached by Donner to take it for a test drive and thought I need a looping pedal, let’s see how this pedal effects my mental health 🙂 When it comes to looper pedals, one of the first brands that come to mind is undoubtedly Boss. Their RC series of looper pedals have always been deservedly some of the most sold pedals since their release. They do a fantastic job of meeting the different needs of people using looper pedals. With its built-in drum machine with around 100 different drum grooves, the capacity of up to 4 minutes of loop recording, 40 preset slots, and storage of 160 minutes in total recording, Donner Circle Looper is an outstanding looper pedal. It has everything, even more than you would expect from a looper pedal for a surprisingly low price.

The volumes of the looper and the drum machine can be adjusted separately. That being said, the overall volume of the pedal is relatively high, which is also great if you are going to use it in a studio. You can find a good balance with the option of adjusting the sounds of the guitar, the looper, and the drum machine individually. Volume pedals, compressors, wah, filters, pitch shifters are the regular first steps on the signal chain. Overdrive and distortion pedals are the second step the signal travels through, while the modulation effects like chorus, flangers, phasers are the third party. The final step is the time-based effect pedals such as reverb and delay pedals, as these effects should be added on top of the existing guitar tone. Importing/ exporting loops using either looper is simply a case of ‘drag & drop’. Both loopers are very beginner-friendly! Especially when to label something ‘the best’ is actually pretty daft. To claim such a thing is pretty much like saying something smells awful or like rotten fish – it’s an opinion, not fact. The Nux JTC pedal features 40 different drum grooves. The versatility of the rhythm section is much less compared to Donner Circle Looper. Plus, the drum patterns are pretty repetitive, making the play-along a little boring after some time. The good side of the Nux JTC drum section is that the sound quality is pretty exceptional, making you feel a real drummer is playing behind you.

With its weight around 15.36 oz (430 g) and its dimensions of 5.31” (13.5 cm), 2.44” (6.2 cm), and 4.25” (10.8 cm), it is a portable stompbox that does not take much place on the pedalboard or to carry around in a bag. One issue people run into is with the levels of the drums and the loop. You have to set the drums quite low to really hear both the drums and yourself through an amp. You can basically get this tailored to your amp and then leave it, but it’s a bit of a nuisance at first. It doesn’t help that you have to switch “mode” constantly while tweaking this rather than just having dedicated “Level” dials. Despite the minor issues reported by the users, which are totally acceptable for the price range, the sound quality is more than enough for mentioned fields of usage, and it is highly easy to use, making it an ideal first looper pedal. I highly recommend this pedal for beginner and intermediate-level guitarists. One thing to mention here is that it doesn’t include a power supply. So yes it’s cheap, but you should mentally add a little on for that. How Does the Donner Circle Looper Perform? And How Does it Sound? We tend to find that the mark of a good pedal partially relies on our ability to operate it before opening the manual, and with the Circle Looper, we were able to not only navigate the features, but also record a multi part loop before reading a single instruction.
