Having a fake girlfriend wasn't supposed to be messy but having Indy under my roof and in my bed is complicated, especially when she wants all the romantic parts of life that I could never give her.

But then somewhere when Miller and Kai started to have sex the book loses its spark for me and it got boring 🤡 i still enjoyed the the little mundane moments Miller or Kai had with Max, but the romance was just mehhhh so the book started to fall from a 4 stars to a 3 stars book. Until the last couple of chapters. get you a man like ryan who builds a bookshelf like he did for her right beside his own because it looks more organized and cute in that way🥺 OK Ryan Shay?? Let's talk gestures. I swooned over the tiny detail that after she casually mentioned her favorite color was lavender, not only did he buy her a bed for the guest room but he specifically bought her lavender colored sheets. So you can only imagine how my heart just continued doubling in size when it was revealed he learned sign language to talk to her dad (a bare minimum expectation according to Ryan!) AND had paid for her egg retrieval before they had even admitted their real feelings for each other! The way he "loves quietly" was so moving to me. Our arrangement isn’t one-sided, though. I’m in a wedding coming up, one where every one of my childhood friends, including my ex-boyfriend, will be in attendance, and there’s no better date than my ex’s celebrity hero. You have Indy who wants to be shown love and Ryan does that+ so much more, but then you have Ryan who wants to be wanted for who he is as a person and Indy shows him exactly that. They are perfection, their chemistry was through the roof and you just see these two people and can feel in every part of you that they are just made for each other. They way they showed up for each other, learned one another’s love language and put it into action, like please sedate me, it was the sweetest thing ever!!!kai is the starting pitcher for chicago’s MLB team (baseball), but being the starting pitch for the team is hard for kai, especially because he’s raising his son max too. being there for his son has always been kai’s first priority, therefore he keeps firing all his son’s nannies. the teams coach monty is tired of kai firing every nanny within 2 weeks, so he gives kai a nanny he can’t just fire, his own daughter miller who just came to chicago for the summer, because she needed a break from her job. Inhaling deeply, I swing my arm behind her, placing my palm at a respectful height—on her shoulder blade. Kai Rhodes forgot how to have fun, and I’m eager to jog his memory. But when he and his son start to feel like home, I have to remind us both that my time in Chicago ends with the summer. Maybe it’s acts of service. That could be your love language. Every morning you make sure my coffee is cold, so it doesn’t get watered down when I add ice. I’ve always noticed that.

and yes I know AND AGREE that Lance Orion basically owns the name “blue” but I’ll give ryan a pass because it just felt right and the perfect name for indy <3

My reaction to this man putting coffee in a fridge was about on the same scale as if he saved a thousand babies from a burning building. And who is this?” Kai’s eyes linger on the woman at my side… in a you’re one of the most beautiful women I’ve had the pleasure to lay eyes on way. and the way indy cared for him was so heartfelt KSHEDJSNDK KILL ME. both of them encouraged themselves to come out of their shells and be better. their entire dynamic had me on my knees. i liked how indy’s heartbreak from her ex wasn’t just skimmed over. the progression from her getting over him and trusting her heart to fall for a better man was well done. i also appreciated how ryan’s hesitation and insecurities towards relationships in general was portrayed. Liz Tomforde legit has a direct line to my bank account and this book is just another example of why.They fully listened and talked honestly about their feelings, never afraid to speak their minds in and out their relationship! No immature displays. Maybe near the end we came across a tiny misunderstanding situation but it was promptly resolved ‘cause they actually ✨communicated ✨. indy, gosh I LOVED HER😭😭 she’s confident, funny, smart, outgoing, she’s so caring and genuine. but at the same time, chaotic and VERY emotional too and she OWNS up to it!!! she has her moments of being flawed as well and that’s what made me love her more. and the amount of times i related to her jjadskjs😭. my favorite mirrorball girlie🥹💗 I love Indy so much!! She’s literally one of my favorite F.M.C. right next to Stevie. Indy is iconic, funny as hell and honestly reading about her life is so refreshing and fun. She’s basically one of us if we ever got written in a book. She’s a romance reader, loves iced coffee and flowers, vegetarian and her style is by far the best I’ve read from a fictional character! She also had such a great personality. The way she’s so caring and just wants to t I couldn’t put this book down. Kai and Miller have such a beautiful story and their dynamic with Max made my heart so happy. These three were meant to be a family and I absolutely adore them so much. The amount of times I cried while reading this book is embarrassing but it really hit me in the feels. Indy is a girl with simple dreams: create a family to love and live happily ever after. His boyfriend had other plans-plans that involved another girl and a bed.
