A lyric about hairstyles: Drake’s wordplay here throws shade in a funny way, letting us know that when he doesn’t pay her rent, she ends up with a raggedy past do’. When a good thing goes bad it’s not the end of the world / It’s just the end of a world that you had with one girl” Youall know that I am always on the hunt for sweet love stories. So, when I went to Seattle and to Barnes and Nobel, I knew I just had to come out with a lovely, heart warming feel-good story. A story which isn’t hard to read, in which I can dive into, forget the world around me and fall in love with the characters and the storyline. A lyric about growth – With change and growth comes a new personality, but for Drake, he’s still the same humble guy he was before all the money and fame. When people come at you with the “you’ve changed”, this one-liner will be convenient.

All the care I would take / All the love that we made / Now you’re trying to find somebody to replace what I gave to you” I loved the relationship between these two main characters. They were great together as friends, but as lovers they were simply wonderful. I loved the way they cared for each other and the way they supported each other no matter what. Their bond was fantastically written and so unbreakable. As the story progresses you can feel how strong the connection between them is and how much they still love each other. We weren’t together, but he was always there, like a part of my soul. I tried desperately to deny it and to forget…" A lyric about money – Drake may have all the money in the world, but he won’t let this new lifestyle change who he really is. If you’re the humble (and rich) type, this line about fortune is all yours. When I eventually returned to my desk at Keele University School of Psychology I wondered why it was that people swear in response to pain. Was it a coping mechanism, an outlet for frustration, or what? I did some literature searching to find out what psychologists thought of the link between swearing and pain. To my surprise I could not find anything written on this topic, although there were some papers on the psychology of swearing more generally. Professor Timothy Jay of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in the States, whom I have since had the pleasure of meeting, has forged a career investigating why people swear and has written several books on the topic. His main thesis is that swearing is not, as is often argued, a sign of low intelligence and inarticulateness, but rather that swearing is emotional language. In his words: ‘Curse words do things to sentences that noncurse words cannot do’ (Jay, 1999, p.137). Indeed, Professor Jay is rather scathing at psycholinguists’ tendency to have largely ignored swearing. He says: ‘Linguistic definitions of language [that omit cursing] are ultimately invalid, although polite’ (Jay, 1999, p.11).A lyric about finding real love: Drake’s tired of dating women who just want to make money off him. If you’re also on a “search and rescue” to find a genuine relationship, throw this quote out there, and it might just come to you. By morning, I was so tired that my bones felt dense and my brain hazy. I didn’t know how I would get through a whole school day. But the fear was too much to keep me home. School was my refuge, and books were my friends, so I got ready and headed toward the door. I tiptoed out of the house and went to sit on the short, brown fence in the front yard until Jax came out. I cried as I waited, sad that I didn’t have a mother and that I didn’t have any friends. A lyric about fortune – Once again, Drizzy brags about his bank account. We get it dude, you’ve got enough mulla to settle on for the rest of your life – no need to get us all jealous about it. The premise is a second-chance love between Jax and Em who, during their teenage years, were best friends turned lovers. A tragic situation caused Em to move into Foster care and this signified the beginning of a separation that would span 12 years.

A lyric about confrontation: It isn’t easy talking to people you can’t stand. If you want to make it known that you’d rather avoid the convo, use this lyric which features awesome wordplay about J. Cole. A lyric about relationship types: You can always rely on Drake to explain the meaning of relationships, right? This verse pretty much tells you how to define whatever it is you’re into. A lyric about romance – These smooth lyrics really do encapsulate just how much Drake wants the girl. If you feel the same way about someone, this line is bound to swoon them. A lyric about erm, cats and dogs? We don’t have to spell out this Drake lyric. It’s pretty obvious what the rapper is referring to here. We just think it’s a funny play on words.

About us

The story is layered and brilliantly told as the heroine, Emiline a struggling writer who is given a bestselling book titled All the Roads Between by her roommate to read. It turns out to be her very own story written by her first love Jason Colby. I also didn't love the love triangle aspect. First of all, a love triangle only really works for me if I actually have no idea who the MC will end up with. In this case, Emi's boyfriend was just filler-fluff, and it got annoying how long they let their relationship drag on. Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it." —Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Robbins, M.L., Focella, E.S., Kasle, S. et al. (2011). Naturalistically observed swearing, emotional support, and depressive symptoms in women coping with illness. Health Psychology, 30, 789–792. I always took care to make sure my clothes were clean and my face washed. After my mom left, my dad started hanging around with Susan, a woman who worked as a maid at a nearby motel. She didn’t dress like a maid, but she always brought us those little soaps from the motel bathroom, so I guessed she was probably a maid. I had to use cheap motel soap for everything, including washing my hair, so naturally, after a few weeks of that, my bouncy brown curls became a frizzy mess. The kids on the bus called me Medusa. If only I had been that scary. Dooling, R. (1996). Blue streak: Swearing, free speech and sexual harassment. New York: Random House. A lyric about sexuality: Drake knows how to get the people talking! This Members Only lyric is a hilarious wordplay on his sexuality, and we have to admit, it’s an instant classic. The ending of the book that J. Colby wrote was supposed to be this mind-blowing conclusion that was going to make everything make sense to Emi, but when I got there I though, "This is it?" It was very predictable, and I didn't see how that would have so thoroughly changed Emi's mind. Why wouldn't these two just communicate about their feelings before? Why all the hoops? Why not just talk to one another?A lyric about wisdom (teeth?)– You gotta love it when Drake drops funny lyrics like this. When you know you’ve been speaking the truth and wisdom (pain) is seeping out of your mouth, use this line!

I received an early copy of this book mysteriously in the mail. I read it in one sitting. Okay, two. I have a small bladder. Swear On This Life reminded me a lot of Colleen Hoover writings who, as you know, I am a big fan of. I loved that it was an easy, fast read and I didn’t have to think too much. I was able to just read and enjoy and guys, I haven’t been feeling like this for a very long time.PDF / EPUB File Name: Swear_on_This_Life_-_Renee_Renee_Carlino.pdf, Swear_on_This_Life_-_Renee_Renee_Carlino.epub A lyric about love – Drizzy’s lyrics are as smooth as butter. This one is powerful enough to win over any ex. Use it as you please, cupids!
