Description

In addition to its practical benefits, Polyx-Oil Effect is also easy to apply and brings out the natural beauty of the wood. Simply clean and sand the surface, apply the oil using a cloth or roller, and allow it to dry. The result is a beautiful, natural finish that will last for years to come.

Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation lead to delays in drying time and the typical smell of oil. Perfect sanding is a must for a clean and attractive surface finish. Please see the technical data sheet for the recommended sanding sequences for the surface you are treating. With any project a test area is always recommended, this can help to rule out any possible issues and help you to decide on the right colour for your wood. One thing I would avoid for at least 2 weeks it putting down any rugs, this will certainly slow down the curing process and result in a patch on you floor when in the future you come to lift the rug. Apply a thin coat to the clean and dry surface along the wood grain with an Osmo Soft Tip Brush, Microfibre Roller or Osmo Floor Brush and spread well.

I could basically copy and paste the description for Polyx-oil as far as the finish goes. My favorite to use is still the clear satin, however the tints look good too. Osmo looks amazing external cedar but it also suits hardwood such as oak windows and doors. Clear oils can darken the appearance of the wood. To retain the light character of oak please use Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw. Untreated wood in its original form has a light, pale character from its natural 'raw' appearance. Sanded wood also has the same effect. Osmo Polyx-Oil 3044 Raw is designed to retain this appearance by using a small amount of white pigments to neutralise the permanent 'wet-look' that develops after application of a clear finish. Based on natural plant oils and waxes (sunflower oil, soya oil, thistle oil, carnauba wax and candelilla wax), paraffin, siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives. Dearomatized white spirit (benzene-free)

They offered me a replacement bottle, but they were not at all interested in helping me sort out the damage already done. They told me to sand it off by hand. I did try, but it was a large sheet of wood and it would be a difficult task under normal circumstances. I happened to be 8.5 months pregnant and couldn’t risk it. I ended up paying for a simple machine and finishing the job myself when, by law, I could have billed them for a new table or for a professional carpenter.

A. In short, 'No'. Oiled and waxed finishes on floors are 'Micro-porous' which means that although the wood is protected, it can still breath as it is not completely sealed.Osmo Polyx Oil is the original hard wax oil a combination of natural oils and waxes for use on almost any interior project. Hard Wax Oil is almost as hard as a varnish but easier to repair. All you need is a rag apply the oil over the affected areas without having to remove any previous finish.
