Description

The eye is made up of three coats, or layers, enclosing various anatomical structures. The outermost layer, known as the fibrous tunic, is composed of the cornea and sclera, which provide shape to the eye and support the deeper structures. The middle layer, known as the vascular tunic or uvea, consists of the choroid, ciliary body, pigmented epithelium and iris. The innermost is the retina, which gets its oxygenation from the blood vessels of the choroid (posteriorly) as well as the retinal vessels (anteriorly). Eye misalignment (strabismus), including inward ( esotropia), outward ( exotropia), upward ( hypertropia) or downward (hypotropia). In addition, other measures are proper lid hygiene, avoidance of eye rubbing, [72] and proper use of personal products and medication. Eye make-up should be used with care. It’s easy to take this sense for granted when it works properly and easy to miss when it doesn’t. You can do several things to help protect and maintain your eyes, many of which involve simple steps you can take every day. It’s also important to remember that many causes of eye symptoms — especially sight/vision changes or eye movement control symptoms — may not be due to an eye condition. Some might happen due to a condition elsewhere in your body. An example of this is yellowing of the sclera when you have jaundice. The cornea (say: KOR-nee-uh), a transparent dome, sits in front of the colored part of the eye. The cornea helps the eye focus as light makes its way through. It is a very important part of the eye, but you can hardly see it because it's made of clear tissue. Like clear glass, the cornea gives your eye a clear window to view the world through. What's the Iris? The distance between the VDU and keyboard should be kept as short as possible to minimize evaporation from the ocular surface area by a low direction of the gaze, [70] and

How vision works

Some symptoms affect the surface of your eye only. Others affect the inside of your eye. Some key types of eye symptoms include: Cunningham, Emmett T.; Riordan-Eva, Paul (2011-05-17).
