It’s always great to see a new manufacturer enter the PC gaming market. New companies can often bring fresh ideas to the table, unorthodox new designs that can push the industry in a new direction or place a sharp focus on the downsides of many existing products. Based on product pictures, this case was designed more in mind of full-system liquid cooling setups, I hope to eventually have a build like that to put it to use in that way. I do see this as a case I will keep for multiple future builds to come. You cannot put a GPU directly into the motherboard, or most full size cards for that matter. You MUST use the PCI extender, and there is only room for one. Sound cards, RAID cards, forget about it. This case is beyond what I was expecting. Finally got away from the over crowded 011D scene. The Y60 is such a great case for the value. I modified this case a bit. I removed the rear fan grill and put in a EKWB FLT120 Pump/Res. Fits perfect. I also swapped the lower 120's for two Noctua 140s. CPU cooler support is limited to 6.3 inches (160mm), which means owners of Noctua’s NH-D15s or Deepcool’s Assassin III will not be able to those chonky coolers. But, with a case like this, wouldn’t you rather show off your RGB-adorned AIO? As we’ll soon see in testing, going with an AIO might be a better choice for temperatures too.

The included riser cable is different than most others on that market that are basically just ribbon cables. This cable features a plastic piece at the top of it that mimics the top of the Y60 and is perfectly measured so there’s no excess cable length. The riser cable comes pre-installed, which made installing our motherboard frustrating, as the cable kept hitting the motherboard. This issue can be curbed by unscrewing the riser cable before system installation. But if you’re lazy like me, you’ll have to deal with it. This design is limiting, but half-height PCIe are readily available if you want an audio card, a capture card, or a networking card. The Hyte Y60 supports two 3.5-inch HDDs or four 2.5-inch SSDs, motherboards up to EATX in size and ATX power supplies that are up to 225mm long. The case also supports multiple large liquid cooling radiators, and has plenty of space where users can mount a pump/reservoir within their systems. On a more practical note, I would take advantage of the radiator space up top and install something like an Alphacool Eisbaer Pro Aurora 360, along with some bright RGB spinners like the Corsair QL120 for some added bling. Bottom Line The Hyte Y60 isn’t huge, at 17.9 x 11.2 x 18.2 inches (456 x 285 x 462mm). But while Hyte claims this case can fit SSR-CEB/EEB (E-ATX) motherboards, our standard-ATX Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Ultra was already a fairly tight fit. There's side, top, and bottom dust filters that will be plenty sufficient. There's USB ports and the power button in an area that fits in well with the cornered window theme.Hyte made a bold move by including a PCIe 4.0 riser cable and encouraging vertical GPU mounting. Because often vertically mounting your GPU can have a negative effect on thermals. We’ll figure out how that plays out shortly in the thermal testing section. The case is mostly okay to assemble and install regarding the power supply and a vertical GPU with the included riser cable, however, the building process can still be rough at times. The case supports only 1 full-height add-on card and the rear case fan must be removed to add most motherboards. This might be a challenge for some users and make the building experience less enjoyable, especially if you have a chunky card like the Zotac GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. The Hyte Y60 supports ATX, MicroATX, Mini-ITX, and E-ATX motherboard form factors. It has no external 5.25-inch bays, 2 internal 3.5-inch ones, no external 3.5-inch ones, 4 internal 2.5-inch bays, and 9 PCI expansion slot positions. The case has a maximum GPU length of 940 mm, a maximum CPU cooler height of 406 mm, and a power supply maximum length of 600 mm. It does not include a fan controller or internal chassis lighting and has dimensions of 45.7 x 28.5 x 46.2 cm and a weight of 9.6 kg. Hyte Y60: Price UK My only comment on all of that, is that if they just made the case ever so slightly bigger, without still having to be a massively heavy full size tower, it would have allowed for a lot more options.

With their new Y60 chassis, Hyte has focused on delivering a PC enclosure that looks like nothing else on the market today. While some of our readers have already called this case the “Fish Tank”, many others have praised its wrap-around features. The lines of the case’s fan filters neatly wrap around the whole of the Y60, and its tempered glass panels deliver a neat wrap around look that other cases do not offer.The Hyte Y60 is a very quiet case. That can be attributed to the location of the bottom fans, since they’re shoved in the case’s basement, and likely also the glass panels dampening internal noise. I measured the rear exhaust fan using our laser tachometer and it read 1,444 RPM, which is fairly close to the rated 1,500 RPM. The Y60 clears up this issue The featured fans are Flow FE12 fans, that can operate at speeds of 1300RPM whilst at whisper-quiet noise levels. Thanks to their fluid dynamic bearing, these fans are highly durable with a long lifespan. Two are mounted on the bottom panel and the third is on the rear.
