The ones this summer will have a baitrunners, if you have a look at the Kevin Ellis video they show them on there, along with some others that are coming out

I've just bought 3 after selling my daiwa tournament iso and first impression very good quality reel for the money gonna put them to use this weekendLove them as reels and built to last but I just couldn't, get on with QD so got shim long cast bait runners then Penn released them in bait runner typical . still use them for piking and built to last To be fair I’d have thought this is true for every company out there, with a few models supported well with spares and others being almost disposable; after all, very few people actually run anything into the ground these days. One look at the 2nd hand market tells you that.. Still not getting everybody raving about these reels. They are good value and they don't look too bad, but that is about it in my eyes. Saying that the only experience I have of them is a friend got some gold lipped ones on a whim instead of his Basiairs. 1 broke and the other 2 didn't stay on there long mine will be here in morning hope there as good as everyone says they are! getting rid of ma shimano LC for them :/ This is exactly what I warned people about when these came out, stating only time would tell what would happen.. Well they didn’t last long did they?

What is your take on the performance of the Penn Conrad? Because i am at my wits end trying to figure out where abouts the other reels i have owned are any better, and cost 3-4 times as much. it never ceases to amaze just how gullible carp anglers are but hats off to pure fishing for recognising the trend or niche market for this reel . Given the two small retaining screws holding the reel handles on, I can't imagine it's much effort to pop these off. You'd just have to find the correct bore wooden handle and maybe centre spindle bit.

Penn Affinity 7000 Limited Edition Reel A company renowned in the game fishing world for producing outstanding reels that can withstand the test of time, this is Penn’s first foray into the carp fishing arena. Penn has used all its game fishing experience to design this big pit distance casting machine. This Limited Edition Affinity 7000 model features a long tapered spool with a slow oscillation movement. This not only provides perfect line lay every time, but also enables the reel to achieve staggering distance casts with incredible accuracy. I've used the Affinity 8000's from the day they was available via the trade, and they have been faultless It amazes me that when the affinity's first came about there was doubters and slaters, now everybody is raving, even a few that previously doubted.... Penn’s Affinity range of big-pit reels has been around, in various guises, for a long time, showcasing the brand’s ability to build ultra-tough churners that still have enough finesse to satisfy the carp market. That reputation for solidity and reliability comes from Penn’s heritage in sea fishing, where reels are treated to more abuse than in other types of angling. With this new Affinity 11 LC Custom Carbon, Penn have created a reel that is not only rugged but also mighty good to look at. New version has a different drag knob, only comes with 1 handle, and no spare spool. Not sure about the internals. Both bloody good reels
