Description

These massive Troggoths are tough enough to go toe to toe with the biggest monsters in the game and come out on top. Capable of regenerating wounds and shrugging off spells with ease, they’re perfect for any general looking to give their army a bit of extra punch – literally. Veteran Gitz players will notice that three of the old moon buffs have been cut, and the extra CP and cast bonuses will be rough to lose, but we promise good news from here on in.

Kizik - Naglig - Snazzgar Stinkmullett - Skragrott - Zarbag - Spittlegit Spiderkin - Mollog - Murkthudd There are smaller details that also help to excel Trugg’s model above the rest. He seems to have carvings onto his flesh that resemble cave paintings, hinting that he’s been (deeply) asleep for a (very) long time. The moss and draped foliage and filth hanging off of him embed the Troggoth tropes of spending long periods in the deepest dank, sleeping until feeling the need to eat. Utlimately, Trugg’s model is to be a fine centrepiece for any Troggoth aficionado and will surely lord his regal presence to any and all who lay eyes upon him. Rules Befitting a Ruler Discussions of lists which don't have Dankhold Troggbosses as generals or all the Troggoth battleline are fine. As long as the list itself is trogg focused. I'm still torn on what exactly I'll be doing since I have a swamp themed Fimir army, but never had any Fellwaters as they were just bad by comparison. Now they're good, so at 2k points I can see myself running 1k points of trolls and 1k points of Fimir as GA Destruction; Arachnacauldron getting those juicy spells out of allegiance. At 1k I'd go Gloomspite. There's always the possibility that I'd go 2k with all trolls but that's too expensive for an immediate buy.

Living Landmark –Thematically this one is my favourite, the general has blended in so well with the terrain that the enemy army hasn’t spotted him. It’s a turn-one-only deepstrike that has to be placed within 3″ of a terrain piece and still more than 9″ away from enemies. Unfortunately this means Trugg would forgo his Leystone in turn 1 which you don’t want to miss out on for defensive buffs. Placing on a Troggboss however to get into enemy lines early with an otherwise slow model is very powerful. Artefacts This kit allows you to build your miniature as a Dankhold Troggboss instead. Regardless of your choice of unit, you can customise your miniature with a variety of heads, weapons, arms and accessories for making your models look distinct – great if you're looking to add multiples of these massive monsters to your army. The set also features a host of basing materials you can use on any of your Gloomspite Gitz models. Dankhold General or Skragrott, I really think those are the only 2 general choices for Dankhold armies.

Covertly shift this hulk into an ambush position, then splat your enemies with those clubs. Given the troggoth’s bulk, Mork would be proud. Beast-skewer Killbow Gitz were notorious for the fact that for a long time they didn’t have subfactions, until they did. The Battletome did not launch with any, but they’d eventually get some through White Dwarf, then reprinted in Broken Realms. They were…fine, in a ‘better than nothing’ sort of way. There are a lot of artefacts to get through here as they’re more split up by keyword, so these are just a selection of the more interesting ones.As this is a bit of a unique case for the destruction forums I'm going to layout a few basic things as to what sort of lists go here and what goes in the main Gloomspite thread. Da Bad Moon gives us another blessing yet again! Not two months after the last Tome Celestial, we get another one, and for Gloomspite Gitz again! Last time it was The Jaws of Mork aimed at the popular mascot of the Gloomspites, the Squigs. This time, the other, less appreciated mascot, the Troggoths get to shine. These sentient mushrooms are beasts of destruction, focused only on eating and napping and then whatever it takes to get one of those two things. With the newest White Dwarf you can field your own squad of them for a decidedly different type of playstyle from the normal gitz lists. Grimscuttle is a total rewrite from the old White Dwarf rules and feels like it still doesn’t quite get there for what is one of the weaker standalone parts of the army. This now lets you deploy up to two spiderfang units off the board with each skitterstrand that you have already deployed in ambush from beyond – bringing all the units on together when the skitterstrand deploys onto the board. It’s certainly an interesting way to keep some of your units safe from early alpha strikes, but can leave you at the mercy of multiple 9” charges. Battalions Seeming to be intertwined with the magical atunements of each Mortal Realm within Age of Sigmar, the construct is impacting Trugg in bizarre ways. Unfortunately, the main impact that Trugg is aware of is the earth-shattering headache that it is inducing upon him, likely exacerbated by Troggoth’s innate repulsion of magic. Kitted-out King Leave Me Alone –Keep Trugg alive and kill all enemy Heroes. In some matchups this will be nice and easy, but in others nearly impossible to achieve. Your opponent should be gunning for Trugg considering how much he does for the army, so consider one of the General’s Handbook ones. Battle Tactics

There are a mountain of warscrolls here, so this isn’t an exhaustive list of everything in the book and everything that’s changed. Heroes Do love big fatty models in Age of Sigmar? We’re going to show you how to field those big Troggoths models from Gloomspire Gitz at 2000 points now! Moonclan units get Frothing Zealots for everyone’s favourite 4+ rally and Lunar Squigs still provides the excellent ability to run and charge for squigs. Spiderfang Venom upgrades the spider venom of your spiderfang units to trigger on an unmodified 5+, and Moonlit Hide is your trogg buff for +1 to save rolls. While the Troggoth is no slouch in combat, it isn’t the fastest creature around. Kunnin’ bosses will want to take advantage of the Supa Sneaky command trait. The second and most important reason is that for the first time we can now field a 100% Troggoth army and this needs to be celebrated! This isn’t a terribly long article because there just isn’t a lot here. The fluff is pretty much what you’d expect, just a bunch of dudes having fun causing mayhem, and the rules aren’t anything we haven’t seen before but they’re powerful and are new for the Gloomspite Gitz. This review was completed using a copy of Battletome: Gloomspite Gitz given to us free by Games Workshop.

If your opponent has any threats hiding behind a pesky ward save, why not strip them of that safety net with Nasty Hex? Now you can ensure your savage bolts don’t find their impact blunted. The arachnarok of the Webspinner Shaman also got 2 extra wounds, upgraded its fangs to 3 damage and now has a flat, non-degrading 10” move – this is a nice change for all of the big spiders. The warscroll spell here got a little bit worse as it’s +1 to the mortal wounds done by the target unit rather than double, but remember that doubling ability is now a command trait. Yes, you can make the Scuttleboss do 6 mortal wounds for every 6 to hit. Battleline There’s three interesting, if not overwhelmingly strong, options for the Dankhold Troggboss. Firstly, Alpha Trogg provides two extra wounds and the Monster keyword, a small mercy for everyone who thought they should be monsters anyway. Trogg Smash is a once per battle 3” mortal wound bomb that triggers after the Troggboss fights. Most intriguing is Loonskin which lets you take one of the non-arachnacauldron Gitz endless spells for 0 points and lets your general attempt to cast it (but crucially, does not make them a wizard so any of those predatory spells will be wild). Artefacts To start just a nice simple well-rounded Trogg list. It’s difficult to make up a list without being a fair amount down on points, so at least the triumph bid is a big possibility!Found in the realm of Hysh it seems, this grants a 5+ Feel No Pain for mortal wounds for the bearer. Troggoths are already tanky so this is in line with their M.O. Battalion: Stomping Megamob You can still use the army’s terrain piece, if applicable. Ultimately this means that the factions portrayed in Rise of the Brute are standalone. Since all the necessary Warscrolls and pitched battle profiles are freely available you do not need the original Battletome to play any of the Armies of Renown in this book. Trugg Knows Best Troggs have the Glowy Howzit , a mighty 4+ ward artefact that gets turned off if you roll a 1 after taking damage that isn’t negated, and the Pet Gribbly which gives +1 wound and then +1 to hit and wound if you roll a 1 after taking damage that isn’t negated.
