Pacing- Extremely slow. Slower than a sloth. Also, I personally think that book four, five and six could all have been pushed up together, it would have been more enjoyable. I started skimming through the 61% mark and I did not regret it one bit.
Petit, Carolyn (November 26, 2008). "Naruto: The Broken Bond Review". GameSpot. Archived from the original on January 24, 2016 . Retrieved July 26, 2015. This has all my favourite things wrapped up in a beautiful cover: badass heroine, immaculate world building, everyone has different magical abilities, fantastic pacing, all the guys (Gabe, Gryphon, Atlas, North & Nox) are so completely different, and so mysterious. Get medical help as soon as possible if you think you've broken a bone. If you think you may have broken your toe or finger, you can go to a minor injury unit or urgent care centre. It was extremely wordy to the point where sentences were repeated with one word changed. There were incomplete sentences galore. The FMC just keeps repeating the same thoughts, cut some of these out and it's 10000000x more intense to read. But I felt like half of this book was just the omega spinning in a circle with her grief (which is fine we all grieve differently) but there was no progression with the plot and it was BORING. And it feels somewhat wrong to say I loved the story considering the topic and that I cried so much. And it was overwhelming in so many ways. I felt for Ramsey. Her journey of grief after the death of all her alphas. Seeing how broken she was. Her bonds were all broken. It made me cry alongside her and being angry, though it was unreasonable. But it was not fair. And I suppose that’s the true issue with death. It’s never fair, and you wish for a different outcome, knowing there is nothing you can do to change it.In the past, thoughts around attachment were more simplistic – one theory was that children would bond with whoever fed them. Bowlby suggested something different. His theory suggested that it was not all about the food, but in fact all about care and responsiveness. Lots of secrets and mysteries. J. Bree was a genius planting seeds here and there. We are in the protagonist's head and yet we know almost as little about her as her bonds do. However, it's clear that a lot is going on and we're barely touching the top of the iceberg. I've heard good things about this author and I was really excited to start with this new release. However, I think I made a mistake because this wasn't a good showcase of talent. Maybe her other books are better?
I’ve realized I’m just not into RHs/Poly-am0rous relationships. This is the second one I’ve ever read, and they just aren’t for me! I see the allure for some but again, it’s like seeing all kinds of attractive people and being able to objectively understand why people like them without being attracted to them myself. Just not my thing .. but you do you boo 🖤 Atlas-AAAHH THIS SWEET MAN!! I LOVE HIM!! The way he was in Oli's corner from the very beginning! He is so sweet and protective and hot! BUT..... he is almost too perfect, and I wonder if this perfection will last. Reeves, Ben (January 2009). "Naruto The Broken Bond: A Refreshing Take On an Overexposed Anime". Game Informer. No.189 . Cut out about 40% of the garbage detail, and it would have been a cute book... That's why I have it two stars instead of one. I definitely really enjoyed this book but my three stars are pretty much entirely for the interesting plot and the main character. People with all different types of special powers, power houses and shady politicians, a supernatural school setting, a new take on the fated mates trope. Oli, our main character, became one of my favorite characters. She is a strong female lead, a badass with a sassy attitude, a dirty mouth and a temper. Her second set of alphas were everything, completely all in from day one and weren’t even entertaining the idea of walking away from her. 🥹 Now to our main character, Oleander. I love reading books where the heroine is the villain in the story, and has a strong character. Oli has the potential to be one, if she stops acting like a teenager sometimes. Broken Bonds is the Morrowind tutorial quest. If you create a new character and choose "Play Tutorial", you get this. If you choose "Skip Tutorial", you don't get it and can do Breaking Through the Fog instead. This proposal enables Broken Bonds to be played or skipped by existing characters. (If you've already skipped it on a new character, you don't get to make that choice again.) Character-wise: Going into this, I knew it was going to be dark and it was. It starts off with the main character becoming a prisoner to her fated mates and goes from there. I will avoid spoilers, but how the main character was written was both irritating and contradicting herself. At moments she would seem to be this stronger character that doesn't take crap, and others it seemed she did a complete 180. She also swears so much that it became distracting in the story to stay focused. There is often a good use/representation for having a character swear so much but this was an instance I think where it was too much.
