In MicroMacro: Crime City players solve cases by locating clues on an intricately detailed map of a fictional city. But it’s not just buildings you’ll find on this map, no; it’s people too! The illustrators Daniel Goll, Tobias Jochinke, and Johannes Sich have captured an entire city at its best, and worst. The map is so epic in its scale and scope that it’s almost bigger than an 8 year old. What is most impressive about this game is how it does so much with such a limited amount of materials. The only thing you receive is a large map and a number of cases. Thats it, the rest of the game is up to you. No dice, no turns, just you and your friends pouring over a map trying to spot tiny details. And yet it is so unbelievably fun! The artwork in particular is absolutely fantastic and unbelievably detailed. By now I’m sure I’ve spotted every detail, and yet even writing this review when I glance over the map beside me I notice something new. Which brings me to my second point. This game is rightly billed as a cooperative game (for 1-4) but because of the way the game is played you’d be hard pressed to get 3 people involved, much less 4. In fact even 2 people is a challenge once you’re on a solid lead. If you’re just scanning the map for clues then having a second person is an excellent addition. But once you’re zooming in to a few square inches it’s just too hard to share space. I spread the cases out among my three sons and they all seemed to think that was mostly fair. A játékot az Év Játékának választották 2021-ben (Spiel des Jahres), illetve ebben az évben több, összesen 4 másik elismerést és jelölést is kapott. A társast, a könnyebb tanulhatósága ellenére, csak 12 éves kortól ajánljuk kipróbálni. Kooperatív jellegű, a játékmenet erősen épít a solitaire, a szcenárió / küldetés / kampány és a deduction mechanizmusokra.

For it’s sheer innovation, puzzliness, and literal months worth of fun contained in such a small box, Micro Macro Crime City is something very special and I cannot recommend it enough. Something that was super useful from the creators of MicroMacro: Crime City - Full House which brings something new and awesome from the original, are the symbols added to each case. These symbols allow parents to decide what cases are suitable for the kids, and what is not. a 8 és fél éves fiammal játszottam tegnap szinte egész nap, és ő azt mondta, hogy az összes társas közül ezt élvezte eddig a legjobban. Plusz 2 nagyobb méretű nagyító, asztali láma és két jó zseblámpa is kéznél van szerencsére, ezek nélkül valóban nehéskesebb lett volna a játék (nekem). One addition in Full House which isn’t present in the original game is the use of symbols to determine the type of content in each case. This can be used to see if it is suitable for younger players. It takes pride of place on my board game shelf, I have been playing it non-stop since I received it as a Christmas present in 2021, and it’s the first game I whip out when friends come round for board game night. Sadly, several months later I have now completed the game. The rest of 2022 is looking bleak and crimeless and I’m already wondering what I’ll do with my life post-Micro Macro. Abszolút egyetértek. Egy jó lámpa tényleg nem árt. Nekem itthon volt egy másféle nagyítóm, és az még jobb is volt , mint ami a játékhoz volt. Az sem rossz, de ha többen kell keresni a térképen, akkor nem árt több nagyító. Amit még megfigyeltem a keresés közben, az az, hogy tuti hogy valaki árnyékolni fog amíg nézelődik. Szóval nem érdemes túl sokan körbe ülni vagy állni a térképet pont emiatt. Bár ha valakiket ez nem zavar, akkor ez a megjegyzés nem nekik szólt. A figurák néha nekem egy kicsit picik, és ha nem lenne nagyítóm, vagy a szemem lenne rosszabb, akkor lehet hogy nem csatlakoznék ehhez a játékhoz. Ami pedig a korosztályt illeti, szerintem is lehet fiatalabbakkal is játszani ezt. A 10 éves keresztányom is nagyon élvezte. Jó, persze ezek bűncselekmények igazából, de mégsem folyik piros vér sehol! :) Részletes a kidolgozása, viccesek a figurák és bizony (sajnos) előre is fel lehet fedezni, illetve észre lehet venni egy későbbi gyilkost, gyilkosságot, miközben az aktuális "ügyön" dolgozunk. Talán emiatt jobb nem azonnal 3-4 estet is megoldani, de mindenképpen jót tesz neki a hosszabb szünet, és nem 1 hét alatt végigjátszani, hiszen akarva, akaratlanul is meg fogunk jegyezni bizonyos részleteket szerintem.

Ami kicsit kár, hogy bár ajánlja a játék is jelölők használatát a térképen, egy darabot sem adnak hozzá, holott tényleg hasznos lenne. Hát, van benne rendesen. A felénél tartunk, és a nagyobb része eddig erőszakos volt. Felnőttnek egyáltalán nem vészes, de egy gyereknek azért lehet, hogy magyarázni kéne, mért öli meg a férjét néni. Maguk a képek nem erőszakosak, nem feldarabolt, vérben tocsogó hullák, szóval, ha a sztorit meg tudjátok beszélni, akkor a képi rész nem vészes. Mintha Poirot krimiket néznél. MicroMacro: Crime City has spawned three sequels, each following the same basic format, but with a new city map, and new cases to solve. Each sequel subtitle takes its name from a term in poker.
