Description

Magical Animal Card – Go into a field like a standard animal card and contribute to the number of animal cards, but allow the player to take additional action. This varies based on the description of the card. Animal Card – These cards are to be saved and played into your Field. Animal cards can be Baby, Basic, and Magic and will be either Llamas, Alpacas, Goats, or Rams. When you have 3 of the same animal type in your Field, you can use the Herd Bonus. This 2-4 player card game is playable by gamers aged 7 and above – but adults will get plenty out of Taco vs Burrito too.

Why We Love it: Llamas Unleashed will never be the same game no matter how many times you play; you can never call what your opponents will do and how this will affect your strategy. It’s fast-paced, exciting, and you can sabotage the efforts of your opponents… all in good fun, of course! What You’ll Need to Play Llamas Unleashed Any effect on an Upgrade card, Downgrade card, or Animal card that is not a triggered effect can be assumed to be a continuous effect. A card's continuous effect is active as long as that card is in a Field (unless otherwise stated). Llamas Unleashed is a great group game. If you like playing card games that are fast-paced, full of twists and turns, and where your nerves are tested as much as your friendships, then this could be your jam! Llamas Unleashed is a fully playable base game that is NOT intended to be shuffled into your Unstable Unicorns games. It comes with 135 cards in a magnetic box, and it has the same base mechanics, but with a few twists.

End of the Game

Animal cards. You can play an Animal card in any player's Field. There are 3 sub-types of Animal cards: There are, as you can see, baby cards (which everyone starts with one of), basic llamas which don’t do a fat lot other than count towards your target llama count, and magic cards like this Fearsome Alligoater which have an effect in certain circumstances. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but what’s clear here is two things: firstly the artwork on the cards is fantastic, with bright vibrant colours and so many varieties of llamas, goats and other similar creatures that you’ll wonder how they came up with all the ideas. But also, and you’ll see this in the photo below, is that the puns are strong with this one. When you’re holding cards with names such as Spit Happens and Alpacalypse it’s impossible not to raise a smile when you first see them, and it’s a humour that carries through into the experience of playing – the chances of playing this without a lot of laughter and fun is pretty slim.

Intriguingly, the person who has spat mostly recently is deemed the most llama-y and therefore gets to start the game. This game is also filled with strategy and of course betrayal as you sacrifice your friends to save yourself. You may be fighting the babies, but you’re really fighting each other. You’d like to think you’re above messing with other people’s monsters by severing their limbs. But you’re really not.The core mechanics are based on those of Unstable Unicorns, but there are a ton of new card effects that you've never seen before. Also, Llamas. How can you resist? Beginning of Turn phase: If any cards in your Field have an effect that states, "If this card is in your Field at the beginning of your turn", they are triggered now.

Once again, you’ll need to work hard to defend your herd and stop your opponents from growing theirs. The main difference between games is herd size and the outright duels as opposed to downgrades or pulling the neigh card. Instant Card – These are highly valued cards in the game and can be played at any time in response to another card being played. They can be played out of turn, and you must follow the action described. If you’re after easy card games like Unstable Unicorns, Taco vs Burrito could be your new addiction. Downgrade cards impose negative effects. You can play a Downgrade card in any player's Field. A Downgrade card in your Field affects only your Field (unless otherwise stated).

While Henry the Huarizo does count as both Alpaca and Llama, Henry still counts as just one Animal. In Bears vs. Babies, players won’t necessarily be collecting mystical creatures, but they will be creating them. Assemble an army as you take turns drawing cards to build peculiar baby-eating monsters. Maybe you’ll make a unicorn pug with a squid body and chainsaws for arms. The more body parts on your monsters, the stronger they are. And you’ll need strong monsters to take down these babies. We’re talking hairy babies, bearded babies, dinosaur babies, and torpedo babies.Fluxx is a fast-paced, 2-6 player card game designed by Andrew and Kristin Looney. If you’re looking for fun games similar to Unstable Unicorns, Fluxx is a great game to bring out at parties. The point cards also have special abilities, such as allowing players to discard, draw, and swap point cards. And if you collect three disaster cards of the same type or three different types, you are automatically eliminated from the game. Llamas Unleashed is often compared to Unstable Unicorns (see Unstable Unicorns rules), but there are some notable differences. The goal in Llamas unleashed is to get 7 animals into your Field before the other players – a task that sounds a lot simpler than it is.
