Characters – 10/10 I can’t stress this enough; the character development in this manga is out of this world. As you dive deeper into the story, you’ll find yourself falling in love with these characters. Their growth and evolution are so beautifully written that you’ll be rooting for them every step of the way. The covers of both Karte 40 and Karte 121 both present Ichikawa and Yamada in the storage room. Only 121 shows them as more physically developed and intimate. Both of them have an active imagination, even if they’re positive and negative respectively. Yamada frequently comes up with random games and quizzes to challenge Ichikawa on the spot, and he gets into them more than he initially reacts. Even on the occasion when Ichikawa disects would-be scenarios like zombie apocalypses and/or last meals to eat, he's still adding details.

Think The End of the F***ing World meets Teasing Master Takagi-san, and you've got The Dangers in My Heart. Anna tries to get Kyotaro’s Line, but he is oblivious in part because she isn't direct. Anna decides to get it when Moeko suggests a group chat for their class, but Moeko intercepts her and gets his Line first, infuriating her. The situation eventually makes Kyotaro realize she was asking for his Line the whole time. Haruya asks Chii out to get closer to Anna, but Anna can’t bring herself to upset Chii by telling her. Two girls ask Anna about boyfriends, but when Anna firmly denies having one they realize she is saying it for Kyotaro’s benefit, and leave them alone. When Haruya arrives Anna fakes a kiss with Kyotaro, so he leaves and Moeko ends up telling Chii the truth about Haruya. Kyotaro angrily convinces himself Anna has been using him to deter Haruya since they met, so he ignores her for the next two days. Upset, Anna confronts him and asks if she did anything wrong and starts crying. Kyotaro realizes Anna isn’t cruel enough to use people. When he apologizes she impulsively hugs him, and this time he lets her. They end up talking their whole walk home and since it is winter break the next day Anna asks him to meet out of school, this time openly asking for his Line and they end up texting all night. Story – 9.75/10 Initially, the story gives off a thriller vibe, but don’t let that fool you. It swiftly transforms into a heartwarming and wholesome romance. The intriguing twist at the beginning keeps you on your toes, and what follows is a sweet and endearing narrative that will leave you with warm fuzzies. The pacing is spot-on, ensuring you’re hooked from the get-go.Chii is an unusual case in that she's oblivious to the love between Ichikawa and Yamada, despite it being fairly obvious to most other characters who watch them interact. In Karte 89, Kyōtarō presents Yamada with a doggy bone bracelet and helps put it on for her. In addition, he finally calls her cute out loud, which makes her start crying. In Karte 35 Ichikawa is shanghaied into helping Chii study (since he scores so highly in science). She settles for putting a piece of candy in his mouth while he’s holding on to his bike and gripping her bookbag to keep her from tripping off a ledge. Flowers of Romance: There's an illustration celebrating June the 12th, the anniversary for Ichikawa and Yamada becoming an actual couple, features the two leads in a field of flowers. Ichikawa is putting a flower hat on Yamada’s head while holding a bouquet behind him. In Karte 37, Yoshida looks up figures of dogs and cats showing places where you can and can’t touch them, with a cat figure displayed as an example.
