Description

Lavender or lilac Chihuahuas are technically a watered-down brown, but their violet-tinted coats certainly don’t look it! The Chihuahua world is among the most colorful in the canine world. While some kennel groups only recognize a few colors in particular breeds, Chihuahuas accept a real rainbow of hues with open arms. The American Kennel Club (AKC) is unusually relaxed regarding the colors of Chihuahuas, with their breed standard stating simply, “Any color – Solid, marked, or splashed.” You’ll want to be wary of Chihuahuas with blue eyes, as well. Blue eyes in and of themselves aren’t bad, but they’re not typical for the Chi.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) is a registry of purebred dog breeds in the United States of America. Their breed standard also adds that the Chihuahua coat can be solid (i.e. of a single color) or patterned. Additionally, they include a specific list of coat colors, patterns and combinations for each dog breed. For the Chihuahua, we can see there are some colors which are considered standard and other color combinations described as alternative. In total, there are more than 30 possible color combinations. Standard Chihuahua coat colorsChocolate and White: Your Chihuahua can be a solid chocolate or with white markings, can be found on the face, legs and chest. When the Chihuahua is already 1-year old, the color of its coat will stay the same until they grow older. The AKC proposes an even broader list of Chihuahua colors that it refers to as alternatives. They are as follows: White & chocolate – This type of Chihuahuas is mostly chocolate, but some white areas are on their chest, legs, or face.

If we were coloring this one, we would use some lovely purples and reds to create a warm feeling for the image. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your use of our Service, without notice, for any or no reason whatsoever.
