Description

The 120d II was reengineered to be 25% brighter than its predecessor, with the ability to output up to 67,000 lux at 1m with the Fresnel 2X. You might find yourselves repeating this procedure several times. Having the ability to lower or switch off or on the lights from behind the camera saves time. Final verdict: Is the Aputure 120d II worth it? DMX is the worldwide industry standard for film & television studios, theatre, broadcast and all forms of digital networking systems. The C120D II comes with DMX capability, allowing studio creatives to maximize their range of uses for their lighting arsenal. All products are covered by an Australian 12 month warranty. This can be either a manufacturer's warranty or a Hypop warranty depending on the product's origin. The warranty covers manufacturers faults, defects, parts and labour. This means that any fault that is deemed to be due to manufacturing will be covered by the warranty for any parts and labour required to fix it. In some cases when the cost of repair outweighs that of a replacement, a suitable replacement product may be offered.
These products are not covered by our 12 month warranty as these products are susceptible to regular wear-and-tear and can get damaged for a variety of reasons not deemed as a manufacturer's fault. If these products are faulty or DOA please notify us within 7 days for a replacement.

The LS C120D II is ideal for sound-sensitive areas because of its sophisticated cooling mechanism, which uses a temperature-sensitive fan to control the heat. The 120d II has a perfect 5500K daylight, allowing it to perfectly blend with other daylight-balanced lights in the Aputure ecosystem.

Customer reviews

The original C120D was revolutionary for its compact size and high build quality. The C120D II now takes this a step further with a new round of upgrades.

The 120d MKII boasts an incredible luminance of 135,000 lux at 0.5 meters away with the Aputure Fresnel. With an approximate brightness equivalent to a 1,000-watt tungsten light, the 120d MK2 is nearly 25% brighter than the 1st generation C120D, making it competitive with some of the highest-grade studio lights on the market. The 120d Mark 2’s DMX system is also pre-programmed with special lighting effects (i.e. thunder, fireworks, etc.) and allows users to input their own effects, creating a light that has truly limitless possibilities. Supports wireless DMX adapters to control light with Smartphones, Tablets or Laptops (not included.)

The C120D II has taken the precision controls of the C120D and expands upon them even further, allowing for dimming seamlessly from 100% all the down to 1%, meaning the C120D II is capable of being both the brightest and dimmest light on your set. The most notable of these upgrades is its power unit - the C120D II is now powered by a single, all-in-one power box. Made of aircraft-grade aluminum but maintaining its lightweight build, a single power unit means less cabling and power components so filmmakers spend less time setting up their light, and more time being creative. DMX is the worldwide industry standard for film & television studios, theatre, broadcast, and all forms of digital networking systems. The 120d Mark II comes with DMX capability, allowing studio creatives to maximize their range of uses for their lighting arsenal. I recently reviewed the MC series and the new 300D MK II and it seemed like an oversight to not spend more time with the 120D II. As a longtime user of the first generation 120D, I was particularly interested in the design updates in the second generation. Is it worth upgrading? Or, if you own the original 120D are you okay waiting? Let’s dive in.

Separated light control design creates well-balanced center of gravity, eliminates use of weight bags The C120D II boasts an incredible luminance of 135,000 lux at 0.5 meters away with the Aputure Fresnel (optional). different dimming curves 】 The long‐awaited 0%‐100% stepless dimming control allows you to use the 300d II in low‐light environments or to overpower the sun, and can utilize any of 4 different dimming curves: Linear, Logarithmic, Exponential, and S‐Curve. In terms of overall build – the mounting yoke is identical to the 300D MK II and allows for much-improved freedom of movement. A big improvement is also the combination of the power/controller unit. Fewer components just lead to faster setups and more shots per day. Unfortunately, the 120D MK II doesn’t come with a similar light stand mount to the one that ships with the 300D MK II. Perhaps this could be created as an additional accessory in the future?

When put to the test, the 120d II achieved CRI and TLCI scores of 96+ and 97+, guaranteeing that you are receiving the highest color quality possible.
