If you're going to use your Type Cover on a different Surface, the input language settings for that Surface will apply. The language settings are associated with the Surface device itself, not the Type Cover. Have an issue with your Type Cover? If you see the logo screen appear after a few seconds, continue to hold for the full 20 seconds until you see the logo screen again.
