In some instances the description of what was happening at a distant place proves to be correct and more accurate than we would expect by coincidence. He (obviously) has very good points about the way that world is structured, the power of thoughts and emotions there, the nature of interactions of the beings there. They mostly matched with my experience from my 180+ lucid dreams. I particularly liked that he committed experiments that led him to believe that there is a connection between the astral state and electromagnetic waves. In this location it became active in radio station ownership, cable television, and later in the production and sale of audio cassettes. These cassettes were practical expressions of the discoveries made in the earlier and ongoing corporate research program. Monroe was apparently the first to investigate out-of-body experiences in depth and publish his research. At the end of the book, Robert explains procedures to conduct your own astral projection experience. He then provides statistics showing which techniques worked best, the circumstances in which experiments succeeded, which senses were existent in the second body, and etc. The experience of an OBE is usually one of the most profound experiences of a person’s life, and radically alters his beliefs. The person then knows that he will survive death. The research subsidiary was divested and established as an independent non-profit organization, The Monroe Institute, later in 1985. Interstate Industries, Inc. remains a privately held company, now doing business as Monroe Products. His daughter, Laurie Monroe, continued her father's program until her death in 2006. Under the current direction of another of Monroe's daughters, Maria Monroe Whitehead, Monroe's stepson, A. J. Honeycutt, and Teresa West, president of Monroe Products, the company's objective is to continue to expand the Hemi-Sync line of products and their benefits into markets worldwide. As science conquers the physical world there leaves only the quantum, or 'spiritual' realms left to explore, and until we advance in sufficiently our 'tangible technologies' it may only be studied by the 'psychonauts' brave enough to go there. OBE's are something that I've instinctively been interested in since a young age as I used to think about think about them a lot and I also used to get myself into 'tingly' states as a child. Perhaps I'm the reincarnated Monroe? Monroe states that Locale II is the natural environment of the Second Body. Locale II “seems to interpenetrate our physical world, yet spans limitless reaches beyond comprehension”. In Locale II reality is composed of “deepest desires” and “frantic fears”. Raw emotion is unleashed in full force. For Monroe, fear was the dominant theme – fear of the unknown, of strange (non-physical) beings, of “death”, of God, etc.
