With compatible video cards, NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium virtually eliminate screen tearing and minimize stutter in high-resolution and fast-paced games for a fast and fluid gaming experience Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. Then again, VA monitors have disadvantages of their own such as significantly slower pixel response time speed, and they don’t have as wide viewing angles nor as consistent colors. At the time of this writing, it’s the only 3440×1440 ultrawide gaming monitor with official certification.

Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches. The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. Since both – the difference between 8-bit color and 10-bit color – and the difference between 144Hz and 160Hz is not all that noticeable in games, this isn’t really worth stressing over. This display’s key feature is a peak refresh rate of 165Hz, which is the highest speed you’ll find in this guide. It supports HDR (high dynamic range), which guarantees you’ll see vibrant colors, and is compatible with AMD’s FreeSync Premium technology. Oddly, this monitor isn’t compatible with Nvidia’s G-Sync, which is its only real downside when it comes to gaming performance. If you compare its feature set to its price, Dell’s S3422DWG is the clear winner in the ultrawide monitor category.

Came with remote control for access the monitor setting. This is very cool and I want it, too bad seems mostly only BenQ do this. Display Curvature - it is slightly curve than BenQ which is 1900 and I do own this monitor and I love it curve nature for 21:9 aspect ratio screen. The storage temperature shows the range from a minimum to a maximum temperature, within which storing of the display is considered to be safe.

The best monitor we've tested with an ultrawide screen is the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9/G95NA S49AG95, which is versatile for different uses. It's considered a super ultrawide monitor because it has a 49-inch screen and a 32:9 aspect ratio, equivalent to placing two 27-inch monitors side-by-side. This provides a lot of screen space for multitasking, and it has an aggressive 1000R curve that brings the edges of the screen closer to you. Still, it may take some time to get used to, especially if you aren't used to curved screens. The Gigabyte M34WQ has an excellent response time at the max refresh rate, resulting in very little blur behind fast-moving objects. Like most monitors, you can adjust the level of pixel overdrive, but the 'Picture Quality' Overdrive setting delivers the best results overall. The 'Balance' setting is very similar, with a slightly faster rise/fall time but more noticeable overshoot. If you prefer a bit of inverse ghosting over a blur trail, it's a good alternative. The 'Speed' setting is slightly faster than 'Balance' but also introduces significant overshoot in most transitions, so it's not a good choice. FreeSync is supported over both HDMI (48-85Hz) and DisplayPort (48-160Hz), but for the G-SYNC Compatible mode, you’ll need to use DisplayPort and have a compatible GPU (GTX 10-series or newer). Price & Similar MonitorsThe operating humidity shows the acceptable level of humidity, in which the display will function flawlessly. It sets a lower and an upper humidity level for safe operation and is measured in percentage. Lastly, the LG 34GP83A display supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), but for a notable improvement in HDR picture quality, a monitor would need a much higher brightness and contrast. Restructured the article to reflect current market prices and availability; added the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 as the 'Best Ultrawide Monitor' and renamed the LG 38WN95C-W as the 'Best Upper Mid-Range Monitor'; removed the LG 34GP83A-B because it's hard to find, and removed the AOC CU34G2X because it went up in price; renamed the Gigabyte M34WQ as the 'Best Budget Monitor' and added the Dell S3422DWG.

However, don’t let its material choice fool you since it feels quite durable and nothing like some budget models we’ve handled. There are no cosmetic defects on the device and its stand doesn’t wobble unwantedly while gaming. The LG 34GP83A-B is the successor to the popular LG 34GK950F gaming monitor. It features a similar 34″ 3440×1440 144Hz Nano IPS panel, but with a notably faster 1ms GtG response time speed and certified G-SYNC compatibility.

Throw Your Computer In The Ocean.

It has two USB-C ports that each support Thunderbolt 4 and 96W of power delivery, which means you can easily connect a laptop to display an image from it and charge it simultaneously. While it has decent peak brightness if you want to use it in a room with a few lights around, it doesn't get very bright. If that's important to you, the LG 38WN95C-W is another option that gets brighter but has a lower resolution and worse text clarity.
