A 10CD box set version also has all ten singles but expands the A and B-side offering to addremixes. So for example, with the ‘Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do?)’ CD, you get six versions of Wham!’s debut single and for 1985’s ‘I’m Your Man’ you get four variants. Some singles simply didn’t have any remixes, so ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’ features just the single and the instrumental version.

No Careless Whisper on a Wham! compilation is bizarre. It’s on all the other compilations. I know it was George solo but it’s on Make It Big and was co-written by Andrew! Sequenced chronologically, the LP journeys through the pair’s chart reign, boasting a total of five UK No. 1 hits ( Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Freedom, Last Christmas, I’m Your Man and The Edge of Heaven), along with two US chart-toppers: Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and Everything She Wants. There seems to be question marks over certain mixes that appear to be different from what they are meant to be.WHAM! The Singles: Echoes From The Edge Of Heaven will be released as a deluxe vinyl singles 7” box set. The stylish collection includes all the singles, plus additional content.

It was a time that both encapsulated and epitomised not just their youth, but also those of the many millions of fans that adored them. Somewhat disappointingly, the UK Top 20 Club Fantastic Megamix and chart-topping Careless Whisper – often credited solely to George but in fact a co-write with Andrew from ‘Make It Big’ (1984) – are both omitted from this release; particularly unfortunate in the instance of the latter, since it featured on their first best-of, ‘The Final’ (1986), and when the duo’s Netflix documentary puts such an onus on his pivotal role within the act.
