She was pretty down to earth for someone exposed to other people’s memories whenever she touched anyone/anything. I won't change my rating for this book because it was what I felt at the time even though it doesn't represent how I feel about it today. Mind you throughout the majority of the book D was acting like he didn't have enough balls to talk her. There is a huge conflict brewing between shapeshifters and witches and Tessa stands right in the middle. To be honest, the first time I saw this book on netgalley, I was one hundred percent enchanted by the cover.

As soon as I started book 1 I couldn't put it down, the story grips you in making you want to know what happens next in Tessa new life, totally worth every minute spent reading! in the fucking school doesn't have to treat her like a fucking mentally-challenged 7 year old by reiterating the rules. So the story centers around Tessa a 17 year-old girl who has recently moved to Texas for her fathers job.

I wished more time had been spent to shoring up the worldbuilding, providing more explanation for the hows and why of things. Even if it means playing with magic she doesn’t understand, she’ll do anything to save Meredith’s life. If you’re like me and you enjoy some YA now and then, and also don’t mind a good dose of paranormal, these are definitely fun reads.

And when it’s well written, has great characters *cough* especially a great male lead *cough* and a female lead that’s not a pushover… SOLD! Labelled as a freak, her family moves from California to Texas in the hopes of giving her a fresh start, but the town they have moved to is also home to a pack of werewolves. Throughout the series, he is very patient with Tessa, though one might argue that he is the main reason why she is in that mess.Soon though it seems like the author, or maybe even Tessa, has found her place in the world and everything is fine. The possibilities are endless for this story, and I can seriously see it hitting the big screen or becoming a TV series. Unfortunately I can’t be more in-depth with this book since I instantly read the next two books and can’t really remember key details to the specific book. Tess more often felt left out because of her condition, and when she was forced into the outer world Tess literally seemed to cave in on herself and hide. Just being around Dastien turns her legs into mush and for some reason her brain decides to go on vacation and whenever she tries to have a conversation with him she just spits and stutters.
