Redemptor Dreadnought ( Brutalis • Ballistus) • Outrider Bike • Invader • Invictor • Impulsor • Gladiator • Repulsor • Repulsor Executioner • Storm Speeder • Astraeus

The Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought was once a staple of the armoured might of the Space Marine Legions first raised on Terra following the end of the Unification Wars. Evidence of their ancient origins exist in the forms of sacred Chapter memento mori and other ancient Imperial monuments raised on worlds such as Necromunda and Lorin Alpha. This suggests that the Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought played an integral part in the earliest Astartes forces raised on Terra for the Great Crusade. Unlike the Space Marines’ current anti-tankinfantry of choice, Eliminators, the Devastation Squad wear Tacticus rather than heavier Gravis power armour, and seem to come in units of five to ten models. Dreadnoughts are often mistaken by mortal observers for huge suits of battle armour or robots; they are similar to both and yet neither. Dreadnoughts are a combination of armoured walker and cybernetic life-support system; their pilots are neurally linked straight into the Dreadnought's cybernetic systems, and are able to use the walker as if it were their own body, although they are permanently entombed within its Ceramite skin until they are destroyed. The sepulchre that contains a Chapter's Dreadnoughts is a holy shrine, and the Techmarines tend to their charges with great care, fastidiously applying sacred oils and unguents while chanting the Litanies of Preservation. To honour these courageous warriors, the fallen heroes are allowed to sleep away the Terran centuries, until need calls them to war once more. The chart above shows the effect of the strike profile against various targets. You have a greater than even chance of killing a 13W dreadnought on the charge even with the damage penalty, while the T8/2+ profile vehicles are a bit harder to kill. The Brutalis still averages one dead Leman Russ per turn, but the 17W of the Rogal Dorn will only be taken out around 25% of the time. The Void Armour bonuses on the Hekaton Land Fortress give it a significant boost in resiliency when compared to the more conventional Imperial vehicles. Although not shown on the chart, on average it takes around 2 turns to kill a T8 Knight profile since they have so many wounds but no invulnerable save. Unsurprisingly the marquee models like Mortarion and Be’lakor are a significant challenge for this unit. The heavy armour on the chest – replete with flat surfaces and sharp lines, perfect for adding transfers and detail – of the Redemptor Dreadnought can be modelled to pivot open, showing the sarcophagus interred within. The adventurous hobbyist can remove the pegs from the waist, arms and legs of the model too, allowing for a greater range of posing options. Here, its lower profile allows the Castraferrum to negotiate low-ceilinged passageways that the taller Contemptor Pattern would be unable to pass along. The true reason, however, that the Castraferrum remains in common use while the Contemptor and other patterns are rarely seen relics lies with the technology utilised within its many systems. Instead of the ill-understood Atomantic Arc Reactors and Helical Targeting Arrays of the Contemptor Pattern, the Castraferrum uses an adaptable thermic reactor and other such technological systems already found within a wide range of current Adeptus Astartes war machines.

The Hammerfall Bunker is already armed with superfrag and superkrak missiles, so we know what they’re going to be like: superfrag fires 2d6 shots per round while superkrak is a Heavy 2, Strength 10 anti-tank weapon. Depending on points cost, these should be a terrifying addition to ranged Space Marines *cough* Iron Hands *cough*. When the greatest of the Astartes are crippled in combat the battle-brother's body will be repaired and transferred into an armoured cyborganic sarcophagus outfitted with extensive life support systems. This sarcophagus is then interred within the heart of the armoured torso of a Dreadnought if there is even a spark of life left. The known Chapter-Specific Castraferrum Dreadnought variants are as follows:Whirlwind • Vindicator • Stalker • Hunter • Whirlwind Hyperios • Land Raider Helios • Thunderfire Cannon • Firestrike Servo-turret When you select a PSYKER unit to manifest psychic powers, you select one psychic power that unit knows and attempt to manifest it. With the exception of Smite, you cannot attempt to manifest the same psychic power more than once in the same battle round, even with different PSYKER units. The same PSYKER unit cannot attempt to manifest Smite more than once during the same battle round. When the Adeptus Astartes fight, they employ a set of combat doctrines to eliminate the enemy. After pounding the foe with heavy weapons, warriors advance to lay down a hail of bolter fire before charging forth with chainswords roaring to finish the foe.If every unit from your army has the ADEPTUS ASTARTES keyword (excluding AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM and UNALIGNED units), this unit gains a bonus (see below) depending on which Combat Doctrine is active for your army. During the first battle round, the Devastator Doctrine is active for your army. From the second battle round onwards, at the start of the battle round, you can change which Combat Doctrine is active for your army, as follows:The Brutalis Dreadnought is a close-combat counterpart to the existing Redemptor Dreadnought, though it’s not just a weapons swap – the Brutalis has additional armour plates on its hips, groin, and knees. This could mean extra Wounds or extra Toughness, though GW hasn’t provided any information about game stats yet. Roboute Guilliman makes all Imperium units pretty deadly, and re-rolls to hit and to wound are nothing to shrug at on the Redemptor. Guilliman and a Redemptor fighting side by side are going to be brutal.
