Description

The OG, the original, demonic Chaos Daemon – the Greater Daemon of Khorne is the screaming, red-skinned, bat-winged, goat-headed, axe-wielding avatar of destruction that is the Bloodthirster. As a “perk”, if on of your Generals dies you get a free command point. Not something to strive toward but makes the most of a bad situation. Escalating Havoc Changes the requirements for units in the Super Battalion. Not worth commenting on as, as usual, you will never use the Battalion in the first place. Every subfaction has its slightly different version of this and it doesn’t get better. Command Traits Contents: 1 x Plague Priest Plague Furnace (Hero) / Grey Seer on Screaming Bell (Hero), 1 x Plagueclaw / Warp Lightning Cannon (Artillery), and 20 x Plague Monks (Battleline in a pure Pestilens army) Contents: 1 x Orruk Warchanter (Hero), 10 x Orruk ‘Ardboyz (Batteline) and 3 Orruk Gore-Gruntas (Batteline in Ironjaws or Big Waagh! army)

Another named Herald on foot and your only real ranged option and anti-magic the Rapturess isn’t great. It has 2 firing modes: one for groups and one for bigger targets and a really long range to boot. It gives one free depravity point per turn for each of them, and lets you screw with wizards 18″ away but cost a lot for what they do. It’s a niche you otherwise don’t really have so it’s worth considering if you can fit them in. Bladebringer (On Seeker Chariot/Hellflayer/Exalted Chariot) Fast as hell –As has already been alluded to a few times by this point, Slaanesh is fast. In most matchups you will have the advantage in speed and seizing objectives As a starting point for Slaanesh this box is definitely excessive. The main piece, the chariot, has 6 multiple assembly options, including combining the sprues from two Seeker Chariots to make a single Exalted Chariot. If that is not Slaaneshi… Tech-priest Dominuses have fallen out of favor recently, which is a shame because Ad Mech still field Vanguard and Rangers on a regular basis to fill out Battalions and the Dunecrawler is a legitimately good unit that sees lots of competitive play. It’s still a great boxed set to start building off of, but some of the savings are mitigated by the fact that you probably won’t want a Tech-Priest Dominus in your army. To wrap it up their personal spell is not great, you can pretty safely overlook it. You get 2 castings so between your Battletome’s lore spell and other options you might use it but don’t make it a priority. The command ability, Excess of Violence however is fantastic. You can prompt a unit that’s engaged with an enemy unit to fight a second time. Feel free to use it on your Keeper of Secrets them-self to really do some damage!Contents: 1 Farseer (HQ), 5 Wraithguard/Wraithblades (Elites), 1 Wraithlord (Heavy Support), 1 War Walker (Heavy Support)

Flexibility in build options – Slaanesh has 3 different subfactions with radically different playstyles. You can adjust to whatever style you play. Contents: 1 Auric Runefather/Runemaster/Runeson on Magmadroth (Hero, Behemoth), 1 Auric Runesmiter, and 10 x Vulkite Berzerkers (Batteline) In their form, they take closely after Papa Nurgle himself: Great Unclean Ones are vast, corpulent, vaguely humanoid mountains of rotting flesh and free-flowing pus. This ‘holy’ appearance shows off their scale and power in battle, but also signifies their stature and favor inNurgle’s putrid court.Contents: 1 Exalted Seeker Chariot of Slaanesh (Hero), 10 x Daemonettes of Slaanesh (Batteline), 5 x Seekers of Slaanesh Icon of Infinite Excess –Once per battle you can pop this, add 1 to hit rolls for friendly units within 12″. Not bad, though I’m not a huge fan of once per battle artefacts. B- What was once one of the worst Start Collecting boxes has transformed into one of the best with the release of the AoS 2.0 Overlords battletome. Note that a single box has enough pieces to assemble 2 Seeker Chariots, 2 Hellflayers or a combination of the 2 if you choose to not assemble the Exalted Chariot. You’ll receive an Exalted Seeker Chariot of Slaanesh, with 4 claw-armed Daemonettes either atop the chariot or riding the horned beasts that pull it; a set of 5 Seekers of Slaanesh, featuring ten different Daemonette heads, two different Slaanesh icons, and a host of other optional components; 10 Daemonettes of Slaanesh, armed with piercing claws, featuring a host of extra part and accessories for customisation. Included in the box is an exclusive Warscroll Battalion rules sheet – Cavalcade of Excess – allowing you to collect, assemble and play with your new miniatures right away! With this, the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar General’s Handbook, and Grand Alliance: Chaos, you’ll have everything you need to field a battle-ready force in the fantastical world of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Glue and Paints.

Breathtaker –Reroll the Locus of Diversion roll for an enemy unit within 3″. This is better after the Locus nerf but one of the few artifacts that’s less useful on a Keeper of Secrets because the odds are still pretty high. It’s still not the worst artefact B- Contents: 1 Lord-Aquilor (Hero), 5 x Vanguard Hunters (Batteline if General is Lord-Aquilor), 3 x Vanguard Palladors, 3 x Glyph-Hounds Contents: 1 Mighty Lord of Khorne (Hero), 1 Bloodsecrator (Hero), 1 Bloodstoker (Hero), 1 Khorgorath, 5 x Blood Warriors (Battleline) and 10 x Bloodreavers (Battleline)This box plus a load more skeletons will see you off to a good start towards a LoN army, Soulblight army or any of the Legions of Sacrament lists.

Note: this article was made prior to the December 2019 points update, so some points could have changed there. Value of the Daemons of Slaanesh box The Rod of Misrule – Roll a die in your Hero phase, on a 1 your opponent gets a CP, on a 2-5 you gain a CP and on a 6 gain D3 CP. Interesting item, the benefits outweigh the downsides unless youre a very cautious sort. BLet’s cover the basic lorefirst. In Warhammer 40k Chaos Daemons are creatures of the Warp, a.k.a. the Immaterium. They’remade not of normal matter, but the darkly reflectedpsychic energyof mortal beings – many of them are manifestations of specific psychic traits, like vengefulness, envy, or obsession. You get 3 generals, kind of. Only one gets a command trait, which you get to choose, but you treat all 3 as Generals for the sake of Command abilities, which often gives better range if delivered from a General. This comes with a catch: you have to keep them split up. If 2 Generals are within 12″ of each other they cease to be able to use Command Traits or abilities until they split up again, Invaders are a jealous lot. So keep them as spread out as possible and utilize the expanded range of command abilities to grant yourself better board coverage. There are many powerful and versatile units across the Hedonites of Slaanesh faction, and some more, in particular, are about to see some significant benefits from the new edition. Sigvald, Prince of Slaanesh As a Starting Thousand Sons player, you want all of these models in your army, and the savings on this box are pretty great. One of these is a fantastic near must-buy for someone who wants to start their own Thousand sons army. The big downside is that because Ahriman is a named character, you don’t really want more than one of these. Though the box savings more than offset Ahriman’s cost, and if you can convert your second copy of him into a regular sorcerer, it’s worth it to buy two so you can make a battalion, and of course there’s the fringe use of having one version of him on foot and another on the disk.
