Having dreamt about one another for years and not knowing if that perfect person really exists, is not something I've read before.

I sigh and push a hand beneath the band of my panties, sliding my own finger up the wet seam of my slit. I found Eliza and Silas to be selfish and short sighted so it made it very difficult to continue reading. The worldbuilding and prose are mostly excellent, and the premise is super original, especially for a romance. The two of us swirl inside one another perpetually, stir and then settle - maybe we could exist apart, but what is more beautiful than the way the surf and sand refuse to stop kissing each other?Imagine you've been dreaming of another person for years; every time you fall asleep you're with that person, and the two of you connect on a soul level.

The climate kept our skin glistening happily during the day, bodies warm to the touch—and at night the breeze danced through the billowing curtains of our cozy bungalow and wiped the sweat off our bodies tangled between the sheets. I thought there was sort of a friendship between Silas and Logan so it just made me feel bad and then mixed with the first person omniscient it made me feel even more gross. But real life is so much more complicated than dreams, how can Eliza and Silas ever be together during their waking hours? He had a handful of weathered photographs found on a job once upon a time, and sometimes he’d look at them and imagine the scenarios come to life—giving the people names and stories. When Billy can’t find the informant, he wonders if Kate is secretly harboring her, since the two grew close during Kate's weeks undercover. Against every fiber in my body screaming at me not to, I think about how it probably felt skating down the inside of her thigh, tickling the warm skin there.

The slip into Eliza’s mind and visually accepting those of the other characters was seamless, as if I was staring down into this enormous freight with them all, watching helplessly as Eliza makes her way to Silas. I did have to double back once or twice to figure out whose POV it was since it's written through 1st person as Eliza, even when it's Silas' POV. We thought several times about ways that we could stay on the island forever, different odd jobs we could do in that foreign society to keep us submerged in it.Silas leans back against his chair and sighs, downing the contents of his glass and waving a hand at the bartender to end the night. The main characters are two fated lovers, as it becomes increasingly clear, destined to be together in real life not just in (SPOILER SPOILER) and then the end comes and BAM! They both ended up at the lone watering gully at the same time a few mornings when Silas slipped in to bathe.

I mean yes, when we get home—but we still have a long ride on this transport before we hit the Otera. He pushed and pulled, guiding me at his pace, licking the supple moans out of my mouth as they left my throat. Having dreamt about a woman he’s never met every night for as long as he can remember, Silas has never allowed himself a relationship that reaches beyond confident that one day, he would find the woman in his fantasies somewhere in the universe. We spent a final night in paradise listening to the waves as they rocked us to sleep, and like every single night before that one, like clockwork, I still dreamt about him. The attraction and the idea of two soul mates finding each other is really what drives the book to be such a success in conveying feelings to the reader.
