On President’s instructions four expert civilian scientists, including the charismatic oceanographer Michael Tolland and White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton sets out to NASA finding site at Milne Ice Shelf in the Arctic to verify the authenticity of the NASA finding. But before Rachel can contact the President, she and Michael are attacked by a deadly task force…a private team of assassins controlled by a mysterious powerbroker who will stop at nothing to hide the truth. The son of a mathematics teacher and a church organist, Brown was raised on a prep school campus where he developed a fascination with the paradoxical interplay between science and religion. In a breathtaking race against time, Harvard professor Robert Langdon must decipher a labyrinthine trail of ancient symbols if he is to defeat those responsible - the Illuminati, a secret brotherhood presumed extinct for nearly four hundred years, reborn to continue their deadly vendetta against their most hated enemy, the Catholic Church. The events take place thereafter unfolds a thrilling story line and concludes with some shocking revelations.

I liked a lot the way of how Dan Brown proposed his idea of the finding of alien life, since it can be easily the way as it will happen in real life. new experimental `IM' weaponry - Improvised Munitions - snow rifles that compacted snow into ice pellets, desert rifles that melted sand into glass projectiles, water-based firearms that shot pulses of liquid water with such force that they could break bones.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Michael Tolland: An oceanographer and television celebrity-scientist, Tolland possesses excellent educational and social skills and does not exhibit unchecked anger, as other characters do.

I found this novel to be right on par with Digital Fortress and thought that it was a very well-written thriller. Occasionally the remarkable scientific knowledge of Dan Brown gets in the way with ultra technical expositions which interrupt the proceedings. In 2005, Brown was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by TIME Magazine, whose editors credited him with “keeping the publishing industry afloat; renewed interest in Leonardo da Vinci and early Christian history; spiking tourism to Paris and Rome; a growing membership in secret societies; the ire of Cardinals in Rome; eight books denying the claims of the novel and seven guides to read along with it; a flood of historical thrillers; and a major motion picture franchise. Especially when the protagonist starts tapping Morse code out on the iceberg to attract the patrolling nuclear submarine.Senator Thomas Sedgewick Sexton: Rachel's father and an ambitious presidential candidate in the book. She is a realist about her father's politics and has little respect for his stand on NASA, but Senator Sexton cannot help but have a problem with her involvement.

My first read of his work was The Da Vinci Code and from that point there was no stopping of reading his works. The Delta Force soldiers kill Ming and Mangor while leaving Rachel, Tolland and Marlinson to perish on an ice floe, but they're rescued by the Navy submarine USS Charlotte. Copyright © 2001 by Dan Brown --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. On the eve of a United States presidential election, NASA discovers a meteorite in the Milne Ice Shelf containing fossils of insect-like creatures, seemingly proving the existence of extraterrestrial life. Failing to succeed, she and Rachel cooperate to replace the meteorite fiasco evidence with photos of said affair. The man was a silver-haired, silver-tongued political animal who had been anointed with the slick look of soap opera doctor, which seemed appropriate considering his talents of impersonation. After his first book, Digital Fortress , almost passed me by, he wrote Angels and Demons , which was probably one of the half-dozen most exciting thrillers of last year. Wailee Ming: A paleontologist with an impeccable dress habit; he is drowned early in the book by Pickering's death squad when he attempted to investigate an irregularity in the extraction hole.
