The Tempo fit can be adjusted by swapping out the nose clamps, but finding the right fit isn't easy.

They connect easily via Bluetooth, and the Bose Music app (available on iOS and Android) on your smart device guides you through set up. The arms of the Frames are thick, but it houses the circuitry, speakers and battery for the device, along with a single button. But, if you've got long hair, no one is going to notice the silicone bits, and you aren't going to constantly feel like someone is sawing off your ear. I'd even go as far as saying that the audio experience is better balanced than that of my AirPods Pro. The only thing we’ll keep in mind is that these aren’t meant to be worn when the weather isn’t sunny, or if you’re indoors – that’s just plain silly. Ultra-modern materials, like a smooth-as-silk nylon frame and a High-Gloss Black finish, ensure Bose Frames Soprano style both look and feel luxurious.

For lying on the beach or poolside they might be just the trick, but for busy spaces and public transport they miss the mark. With seamless capacitive touch and an integrated motion sensor, these cat-eye Bluetooth sunglasses’ controls are as modern as their concept. Or, if you're like me, you can add in some blue-blocking clear lenses that could help mitigate eye fatigue after spending too many hours at your desk. On public transport they produce mixed results – we could hear announcements being made, but we couldn’t listen to our normal podcast over the chatter in the carriage. Performance can be affected by obstacles such as walls or metal, interference from Wi-Fi® or other wireless devices and device manufacturers’ Bluetooth implementations.

Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). That’s the difference, a revolutionary Bose OpenAudio™ design that frees you to hear and interact with the world around you, all while discreetly listening to music. There’s no avoiding this one – the Frames aren’t adjustable (even with the extra nose clamps the Tempo comes with), so if you’ve got a slightly larger head, the fit will be very, very uncomfortable. One of the biggest complaints owners of the original Bose Frames had was the incredibly short battery life — topping out at about 3 hours.

We'd expect these to loosen up over time and use but when a colleague tried out the Frames Tempo, the arms were pressing down on his temples too tightly to assume they'd get better with use.If you need things like noise-cancellation or just a regular pair of headphones, then there are plenty of other ones on offer from Bose. The Frames comes in two polarized lens styles (the more colourful of which is sold as an optional extra) that are fairly easy to pop out and swap around should you desire.
