At the airport, Bernice finds a suspicious postcard and alerts Ben, who investigates Helen, a pilot still reeling from her husband’s death in Iraq. Security agent Bernice Adams finds a postcard of the Golden Gate Bridge with writing on the reverse side. A TSA agent discovers a postcard in one of the bins than has a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge on one side and a warning on the other. But it was the message of Accidental Heroes that stuck with me the most: Heroes aren’t born, they’re made.

The story slowly built up the suspense as the ground investigation brought home some ugly truths, and it was left to Helen to bring all the passengers home.

Her many international bestsellers include All That Glitters, Royal, Daddy’s Girls, The Wedding Dress, The Numbers Game, Moral Compass, Spy, and other highly acclaimed novels. But as it emerges, there’s someone on the flight planning something terrible and these strangers’ lives entwine as they come together to help to avert a tragedy at the eleventh hour.

Thankfully I borrowed it from our local library because I sure would be kicking myself if I'd paid for it. I loved that the author dedicated the book to the people who help us fly safe, and it was wonderful knowing how hard they worked in tandem at every moment to prevent catastrophic events. Many lives are touched by this tragic event as attempts are made to save this plane full of innocent passengers. On a real life angle, elements of the storyline featured in Accidental Heroes echoes air disasters such as the September 11 hijacking and the 2015 suicide by the co pilot of Germanwings flight 9525 disaster.

As the passengers approach their destination, their futures will be changed forever by a handful of accidental heroes. Then we get to meet the person who follows her hunch and is crucial in the operation, and a bunch of people forgetting all about their problems just to save the passengers and the crew from the aforementioned crisis. I loved getting the background on the staff heading to work at JFK as well as the flight crew as they get their assignments.

Then I reminded myself that I had said the same thing about Nora Roberts before I read Year One and decided to give this book a try. The fates of these three, and many others, converge in Danielle Steel’s gripping new novel—a heart-stopping thriller that engages ordinary men and women in the fight of their lives during a flight from New York to San Francisco.A strong line of suspense and a great visual quality defines worldwide bestselling author Danielle Steel’s latest novel. Her many international bestsellers include Property of a Noblewoman, Blue, Precious Gifts, Undercover, Country, Prodigal Son, Pegasus, A Perfect Life, and other highly acclaimed novels.

I was fascinated reading about all the people involved and what goes on behind the scenes at an airport when security deems there to be a credible threat. What's more exciting than being thousands of feet in the air in virtually what is nothing more than a tin can, when you discover there's a problem and you and everyone aboard might be doomed to die! But it emerges that there’s someone on the flight planning something terrible, and these strangers’ lives entwine as they come together to help avert a tragedy at the eleventh hour. With two planes in the sky both going towards Golden Gate Bridge the hunt is on tracking passengers background including cabin staff. In her stunning novel, Danielle Steel combines intense action with stories of emotionally rich, intertwined lives. As flight A321 nears San Francisco, desperate choices need to be made and soon passengers, crew and experts on the ground become accidental heroes in their attempts to avert an airline disaster.
