The worms arrive in a slender pack that can be posted through a regular sized letter box, they look like a tray of sawdust. Each application controls slugs for 6 weeks, so for a slug free garden, re-apply each 6 weeks – see our Planned Programmes of packs sent a 6 weekly intervals.

You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Unlike some controls, Nemaslug continues to work well during wet weather - exactly when you need protection against slugs! Regularily applying Nemaslug every six weeks is the best way to keep slugs at bay throughout the growing season.I didn’t get round to it at the beginning of this year and I’ve been plagued with them even with such dry weather.

Unlike Nemaslug®, many slug pellets do NOT work well during wet weather – exactly when you need protection against slugs. We supply packs of microscopic beneficial parasitic nematodes (eelworms) which are watered into pots or open ground with a watering can or hose. A full season's continuous treatment would take 6 x 6 weekly applications, that is 6 packs in total (depending on the area treated). Please note that the soil temperature should be 5ºC (40ºF) or over, however, Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost. Nemaslug will kill snails, and many retailers sell it for that purpose, however Nemaslug is not generally an effective snail treatment due to the snail lifecycle.

Control slugs NATURALLY by applying Nemaslug Slug Killer, which contains natural nematodes, that are effective at controlling slugs, but unlike chemical controls, are safe for children, pets, birds and wildlife. The slug nematodes were used as recommended and within a week we could find only isolated individuals around the garden. The weather conditions have taken a turn for the worse since applying the mix and it is a lot colder over night, but still sunny during the day. It is also non-toxic to birds and other wildlife, and is absolutely safe for use around friendly animals or children.
